  1. Cheers Phil - got a figure to aim for.
  2. how much you guys paying? mine is now off road and in garage for serious modding to begin so doubt i'll be putting many miles on for the next 6 months or so - just want cheapest cover for fire, as i doubt they'll nick it when its on blocks :D
  3. my current insurers don't :D How much and how little if you get my drift?
  4. Sorry - another insurance topic, but have done a search and can't find anything. Anyone got this limited cover, and where from? Thanks
  5. I've just ordered this off amazon, sees very comprehensive - £12.75 inc P&P.
  6. you mean cold start valve with blue connector, oil temp or water temp fella?
  7. awigman - did your insurance cough up?! New doors are £550, then by the time you add paint and labour your looking at a grand - i got hit early october and insurance has done a cash settlement not repair re bodyshops I don't know, the ones on marsh barton will be good but pricey i'm sure - i've bought paint of hickley valtone on marsh barton but dunno what their works is like but seem good guys - see who sercombe street recommend as well they're very keen on their dubs. let us know anyway as i'll be needing one as soon as i pick 2nd hand door up.
  8. it's the thing with two pipes running to it, one flow and one return just above blue cold start valve on picture above
  9. i assume you'd shim the cylindrical piston which rests on the metering flap, don't know how much tho if you do it let us know how it feels! WUR is on right hand side of engine, below the cold start valve i think?
  10. sorry should have been clearer, undo one of the nuts on top of the metering head - the reason for this is there is a valve in the metering head which occasionally sticks and cuts off fuel to the injector's... by undoing the flow at least you know you have fuel to the metering head.
  11. Have you definitely got fuel - check its pumping by slightly undoing fuel pipe nut on metering head.
  12. CandR have stopped now, and handily thrown their programming software and leads in the skip  along with the system plans so you can't replicate. There is people about with the software though, so long as you have the lead! I've got the regular Vsam, and am guessing mine has a programme written into it all ready from the effect it has when used with optimax :D
  13. Ouch :!: back on topic;look out for VSAM as well - piggyback chip like Kstar
  14. Not mentioned as yet; but you could decat for starters, on a 2litre i'd be tempted by the KR sticks in first instance.
  15. never fitted one myself, does the G60 have a stock oil cooler - assume you're removed that from what you say. remember someone saying something about having to shorten the threaded tube to get em to fit - try doing a seach defo been raised at some point.
  16. what's the crack with this bio diesel then?
  17. I'm with you on the diesel front, got a Polo 1.9TDI being delivered on monday - not quite your Merc tho :D
  18. love the grille and headlamps on these, and a proper pimped up interior to match :D she's looking good already
  19. they're part of the fender grille i think :?: therefore need to buy entire fender.

    electrical probs

Coullstar Now i might be completely wrong here, but I had a 16v that began life in Scotland, and had an imobiliser which you had to place in a slot on the dash to get the car started. Problem arise when the little batteries in the imobiliser jobby fail, the switch you've found is used to bypass the imobiliser and enables car to start. By pressing the switch you've probably messed the imobiliser up somehow, check out your service pack and see if you've got any instructions for it.
