classic design - someat really appealing about the mk1 -
Got home last night, strut brace has arrived Went to measure up to car - miles away from fitting, its a joke how different it is  I'll be posting some pictures of the 'corrado' brace on a different thread, along with a health warning re the jokers who sent it. If i didn't like corrados much, these jokers would find it buried in one of their windscreens.

Dinkus crash was round a bend going down hill on a section of single track country road - it was obvious, the fact the spoiler was up just confirmed i'd been travelling over 45  He'd of done me if the road wasn't classed as knock-on-knock

Had a look last night but couldn’t find specific stuff looking for. But in terms of checks ISV must be vibrating, not necessarily buzzing. When idling pull of pin connector and check for resistance across pins - cold 1000ohms warm 75ohms. Have KR myself not a 9A, does the 9A have a Lambda?

Blue g60 this morning parked along showground development sites in Bridgwater. Looked very tidy, had ccgb sticker. Nice motor.

when i wrote my first rado of the spoiler was up, and I told the copper i was going 30..... the copper was vdub fan and gave me a very knowing look
-
Yep some of those look serious - on the plus side it makes the working ones even rarer :D

He's already got his hands on mine, luckily for me it's nowhere near as much as you'll have forked out - However, if it doesn't turn up I'll be taking some sort of redressing action.......

Ahhhhh - I've just purchased an item of these guys. Paid over two weeks ago, got stung for £15 for 'first class' postage, and the part ain't arrived yet - in addition, the parcel delivery company is having problems tracking the consignment number  I've given the bloke a hard time (whenever he answers his mobile that is) and he ain't out of business yet. Let us know how you get on Blair.
-
by bouncy chasing do you mean hunting like +/- 1000rpm rise and fall in revs? If so would suggest your ISV is stabilizing fine, and it's actually mixture or other metering/sensor out. Have got method for testing this circuit at home, so if no one else more familiar answers in meantime i'll get it posted tomorrow. have you tested voltage accross cold start valve and other sensors on side of head?

eeehhhhhh :?: maybe it's a joke?
-
incredible  where do i get one
-
ahhhhhh the :notworthy: webber fire breather :notworthy: forgot about that one

Stealth Mod is called WUR mod, something about drilling the fuel regulator for about £50 - always seemed a bit dodgy to me though :? As mentioned above, tried and tested methods: - K&N panel filter - £40ish Enlarged throttle body - £100ish depending where you get it done 50mm inlet if car hasn't already got - £50ish Gasflowed head - £200ish or Ported & polished head - £400ish Wilder cams, or mod exhaust to inlet - £60 Less restrictive exhaust downpipe from G60 or bespoke - £200ish Full stainless system - some good deals about but usually £400+ Get a 2 litre bottom end, 9a, ABF or 6a codes - these all have their own peculiarities but ancillaries 'nearly' same. I'm currently 6 mods down on the list above, hoping to reach into 180's or above when all done but will need a stand alone fuel system as well me thinks :D Do a search, there's tonnes of past links like this 8)

think mines a cross dresser :?

welcome mate, not many 8valvers around 8)

Monday evening red rado came screaming past when turning off A30 - Okehampton slip road, got the lights and gave thumbs up :D

first time i saw one i had a second and third look - skoda means vw nowadays, just simply nice motor

Carb icing got a mention in same book! But as you say I don't reckon the air would be coooled so completely that the injectors don't do their business, if this system can get the charge temp down to a consistent 0degs on a summers day that'd be nice.
-
I'll try and dig the book up I read it in, I was actually considering taking a scoup out of my bonnet to cool my inlet manifold by air flow - how desperate for bhp am I :D But book advised against it, particularly for use in freezing weather as mentioned above. With this cyro system i'd assume their'd be thermos to stop air being cooled too much, i'll be free guinea pig for a valver if you like
-
I'd be interested in the interfreezer thing, but read somewhere that injected fuel does not atomize effectively in the 'super cooled' air leading to misfires etc. Is that true?
-
I'm no expert :D But, yep check all vacum hoses around manifold. Could be a number of other things as well :( Generally the ISV (near kvwloons right thumb in picture ) should regulate your revs so it doesn't plummet when you take foot of the gas, if you've cleaned it make sure it's buzzing when ignition on, you may be idling of the throttle idle alone. If engine is lumpy then could be your mixture, there's a guide for resetting this on here somewhere, also have you checked for clean spark on plugs? If you put in a general search about this then am sure you'll get tonnes of results, does it start allright?
-
Didn't some fella off here plan the 2.5TDI for a transplant, torque was through the roof!?
-
have to clarify a little, are you saying the revs are rising and the car ain't going anywhere?! is this immediately after starting up? at start up is engine lumpy?
-
sit on your hands mate, i've been staving of the house purchase for the last year... high national debt, interest rates going up, over ambitious vendors, first timers priced out the market, buyer enquiries down & high proportion of second/ third home owners stretching their monthly outgoings, plus an oversaturation of rental property (depending on town) - my guess is a slow levelling off and slide back to realistic levels. My thoughts only of course :D besides it's a damn good car, just tighten the belt a bit
