  1. To test - jack up suspect wheel, put in high gear and rev to get wheel turning to about 4/500 revs - you'll be sure to hear it :!:
  2. I had a dull rubbing/ droning sound which correlates with speed, tho after changing left front noise is still there but bit quieter - will change other one too. Just hope not drive shaft bearings :(
  3. in fact you get co2 fire extinguishers - not what you want in your inlet manifold :D
  4. co2 - carbon dioxide?! that's a bi product of combustion so won't burn - sure its not some other gas :?: Might be wrong tho gcse chemistry long time ago  If frozen oxygen then that actually is rocket fuel
  5. nice one, your a few months ahead of me - just need the 2.0 bottom end now :D
  6. In a word - NO not an easy mod :D there is a semi induction kit, which costs about £130 quid, which retains the metering head - but heard bad things about them. It's obviously possible to remove all the metering head but it's pricey, a lot of guys do the drilled box thang but i'm not a fan of that either... depends how extreme your going ps - so do you live in wales or new zealand :!:

    Golf 16v Inlet

Fitting 50mm manifold alters the torque curve to bias top end power, smaller manifold bias's mid range - have larger one myself, and there is a difference at top end from 5,000 onwards, but offset by noticeable loss at low end. Official VW figures are 3hp benefit for 50mm. All told depends on your driving style, my thoughts are the 16v is a revvy engine with crappy low end regardless, so on that basis I'll be sticking with larger. I adjusted mixture after fitting and that was all.
  9. I'm a lesbian hiding in a mans body - does that count :D
  10. £1500 - £2200 for reasonable example, rust bucket less, mint original garaged example more

    Wish List

errr lottery, liz hurley, big yacht...sudden reincarnation as either ninja or big time DJ  seriously tho, keeping it simple - 2ltr bottom end, fit ported head, polished manifolds, custom exhaust from block back, bigger throttle body, stand alone management new head unit and turbo :D
  12. beauty & brains - challenging combination :D
  13. My brother (git) has the 911 turbo sport, his last service cost him £3.5k and two weeks..... the car only went in for a regluar service!!! It seem the technicians in their efforts to fix a minor oil leak completely botched it resulting in the obscene bill... Porsches fault - NEVER.
  14. if it fits and is bigger then i'll ave one of them :D cheers anyways, saw audi one going cheap on old ebay that's all

  19. I might have dreamt it - but did I read on here the 16v manifold can accept the bigger audi 80/90 20v throttle body :?:

    Oil Temp

Crikey - I average 106 if I blat it, or 108 if stuck in traffic jam. Rest i'm 96 b roads to 102 motorways - and that's in warm weather :!: Think I'm running too cool :D
  25. Great I get in first! I drilled mine about 6 months ago, about 18 x 12mm holes between the ribbing of the box and on the mitred corner, below the filter line of course. There's tonnes of links on here about this, and a proper guide on the scottish corrado website - dunno url though. Expect lots of noise :D HOWEVER, I personally got fed up with the noise (all noise no power) and when I got round to blocking the holes back up I noticed gain in power - up to you man, everyone will probably slate me (except Kevhaywire he's not an advocate either  ) Just my 2pence. :!:
