Got the brakes on my list of jobs for the weekend (I was pumping air last week) but never done it before - is it a sinch :?: I though you didn't have to change gearbox oil :?: Might do at same time if it can be done, can't see a plug on bottom of gearbox though :?: Any direction appreciated, ta

sorry man - been away for while 8) Ignition coil is silverish and tucked in rear section of bay underneath passenger windscreen wiper, got HT lead and, timing leads coming out one end. The Fuel metering head is bottom lefty hand side of bay, sorta metal blockish with fuel flow and return on pipes side, and five pipes going to injectos and cold start valve, dunno what the 'boot' is though :?: :!:

My boss has one of the T Spark jobbies, and it's in the garage every few months. As for after purchase sales - when raising a problem, he's frequently greeted with the response..... "errr.. that's an Alfa thing Sir, that's just the way they are" :!:

Didn't think they're was any difference between the standard intake/ head ports - They're definitley the same size on this particular head, so must have been matched then polished :D Made my mind up though - definitely going with the smaller manifold. Cheers everyone.
-
cheers - will be opting for the smaller bore at this stage, means i can get cracking straight away :D

 ......duly edited

Have just bought a 16v gas flowed head :D I’m going to be port matching the inlet manifold myself, but was wandering which one to match?! I’ve got the 50mm on the car at the moment, and the smaller one sat on the shelf :? I seem to remember someone saying you got better air speed; thereby promoting torque through the thinner one – Is that right – have I just answered my own question  Turboing is a real possibility in the future too

TOTALLY AGREE - following a busted fuel cut off valve on the metering head, my local garage kindly blocked my 'performance enhancing/ noise creating holes' up without telling me :? The result when I pulled away from the garage had me well confused, the car was pulling much better than it was before; and as they hadn't put it on the service sheet it was only after inspection I noticed they'd done it :D Needless to say the cardboards still there, and I'm enjoying the 16v engine noise and K&N filter as it should be - revvy and with a whistle
-
Likewise - they're not exactly customer focussed!! Was thinking of their Pack A head too, but just can't justify that sort of cash, especially when you can pick up the component parts; and then organise a mechanic/ yourself to do the job at half the cost :) Never approached stealth - hows their prices compare :?:

Mine cost £25 from GSF  You sure you got the right one :?: :!: Dead easy though, I didn't actually clamp the pipe shut - you get a bit of bribbling fuel then it stops. The clamping bolt was a biatch to get to on mine (it's above the filter) that's the only bit you might struggle with. I'd also recomend getting a bright lamp for seeing what your doing - the radiated heat make the fuel pipes less brittle, as they can be prone to shattering. If the fuel pump buzz sounds a lot sharper and cleaner when you turn the ignition, then you'll know the old filter was snarled up big time. So worth doing for peace of mind.
