  1. no you dont need them unless you plan on fitting the screen yourself, there just there to help space the screen off the channel, there just rubber wedges that you move up or down the channel untill you get the screen in the right position, there realy cheap so buy them if you want, the windscreen fitters would have there own..
  2. unless the whole cars being stripped out along with the engine deffo keep it original colour, mine had a colour change by one of its previous owners but only the outside so engine bay, scuttle tray and some inside bits in the boot were done with a rattle can wasnt so bad at first but then you notice the bits which werent done,
  3. a few weeks ago i swaped my audi a3 {a car i got for cheap} for a 3door atlas grey mk2 golf 2.0 16v so im tinkering with that and getting it ready to use as a daily, the corrado hasnt had a look in for like 3weeks! for the first time since iv had it, but i know its there and everytime i walk past , it just makes me want to drive it! Luv it! shame i currently dont have insurance for it and the weathers crap, maybe if you guys gave your rado's a break for a couple of weeks things would be different?
  4. yea idd be careful about drowning it in wd-40 or any other oil/lubricant as it may cause problems when it comes to paint time, so for that reason i would steer clear of that method, if it was me idd just throw any metal paint on the bare metal and call it a day, its getting re painted right? so its gona all get sanded back and re finished anyway
  5. guys picked up a mk2 golf converted to 2.0 16v ABF and noticed that theres something missing here, whats this for and whats missing? seems to be sucking in air , havnet driven it properly but otherwise seems to be running fine also anyone know where i can get the flexy hose for the slave cylinder for the 02a gearbox? cant find one anywhere!!
  6. sell it dont destroy it, a dent and some rust issues are to be expected from a car of this age ,
  7. yo, its good thanks, just sat outside in the rain getting cleaned lol, my temp insurance ran out on it and the weathers turned into absolute crap over here so i wouldnt be driveing it anyway,
  8. mine was leaking bad but now its stopped, previous to that leak my car hadnt seen rain for like 5 months ! and my sun roof gutter and drain are sound as i removed them for spraying, only thing i can think of is maybe the seal needed to swell up for a better fit ? just weird how it all of a sudden stopped leaking.
  9. this might be food for thought but if it was me i would consider getting another vr6 engine as i dont know anything about engine building, they can be had for around £300 on ebay, as daunting as it sounds an engine swap isnt that hard, can be done on the week end with a m8 or by yourself.
  10. oh dear, iv been abit silly :( iv only gone and swaped a working car {audi a3 1.6 } for an unfinished project! the audi had its fair share of problems and idd rather be driving this tbh! needs abit of work but im gona hammer it out and get it done, its my new daily!!! it was a 1.8 16v but the previous owner put a 2.0 16v ABF in it, means nothing to me as it seems to be missing 2 cylinders!! comes with a staggerd set of 16" lenso bsx? bbs reps with very good toyo tyres, need to sort out the rust problems fast so it'll be bullet proof for the winter , leaking nicely into the wheel well!! will be spraying the lights all red!! ---------- Post added at 10:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:23 PM ---------- cut the rott out , rather pleased with myself, having all the gear and learning from when i did the rado makes this an absolute breeze, ---------- Post added at 10:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:29 PM ---------- bye bye aerial! , bad news is iv just realised its had a slight colour change!! original colour is atlas grey LP7V and iv orderd that already, think the new colour is reflex silver? realy not sure though, so f-it the roofs going back to original,
  11. might be worth getting it on vagcom/vcds and see what the ecu temp says and compare against the gauge temp
  12. looks good with no hood ;) whats the difference in performance now with the 3.2 ?
  13. good job m8, £80, labour free then :) just the way we like it!!!
  14. no thoughts on selling mine either ;) yea know what you mean with the current market , seems nuts that when i brought my dog of a vr it was the lowest price around and now i could get a prety damn good one for that money now , i wouldnt break it , i know alot of people do but idd just hang on to it on till prices increase which they eventualy will.
  15. that sir is a blady good idea! new wheels look good btw!
  16. right ok, how much would you take for the two 7.5s? can you post a picture with the date written on something? cheers ---------- Post added at 8:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 8:20 PM ---------- failing that, i have two 16" x9j borbet A in 5x100 et 15, but i belive you could just change the rear discs to vr discs and be done with it, {thats assumeing you want these for the rear?} i want £100 for the pair and what ever it costs to post them, at a guess id say £20 per wheel as im from channel islands, i have a thread in the forsale section,
  17. LOL made me chuckle trying to recreate a "ping a tee ping " noise :) OP does the exhaust seem louder after the hit?
  18. damn sorry, earliest i could get them is now anyway , how much did they go for in the end? the lips on both rims are kerbed but nothing that couldnt get smoothed out ,
  19. there straight as far as i know and the previous owner had no trouble when he was useing all four , they do have slight kerb marks , i'll get a pic of them both for tonight,
  20. i need to do my arb bushs at some point, im guessing you only need to create about 2 inchs of space between the subframe and body in order to remove the bushs?,
  21. hi, no tyres just the rims, also forgot to add that i have no centre caps for these either but theres no short supply on ebay, there seems to be a couple of styles of borbet A center caps, so what ever centre caps the 7.5's come with just source a second pair, et 35 or 30 is perfect! if you run 288mm front brakes you will also need a spacer to clear the caliper, not sure if its the same for 280mm?? i ran a 15mm hubcentric spacer on the front so my et up front was 15! and didnt have problems even with it being lowered, anything 4x ,like 4x100 should re drill just fine, just make sure its a 16" rim ;) ,i wouldnt purchase a 5x120 or 5x rim as i dont think there will be enough material left, 10 holes is just to much, also the two borbets forsale arent all black like the ones in the pic, the ones in the pic were my set that i made up and sold a few months back , they just have a black center with bare metal lip but will sit exactly the same as the rears on a vr6 in the pic with a 205/45 tyre
