im prety sure yours isnt a vr? , if it isnt them wheels will stick out further on a vr as the tracks wider so size isnt important unless yours is a vr, to O.P i have a pair of 5x100 9x16 et15 borbet A's i might sell if interested? your just need to source 2 front ones, and yea abduls right about the caliper, i need to run a spacer to clear the caliper
-
yea that was the add on ph didnt look bad in them photos, yea ill be keeping this one for awhile, theres no way i can sell it now iv put this much time and money into it, i kinda wish i woulda waited for one in better condition but this one has given me the chance to get involved with body and paint and not feel like im butchering a perfectly solid corrado so its all good, just happy to see some results, its not perfect at the mo, need to sand out 2 runs and some dust nibs and some dry spray which i think was down to over spray, then i'll scuff the lot back and do 2 more coats of clear which should go down prety flat then wetsand and buff!! after its back together i'll still need to do both wings and both doors and rust repair on the tail gate but i'll do that as and when as there just panels and can be done individualy, the hard bits almost over, also got brand new windscreen trims and seals also TT wipers n blades will also be doing all red rear lights and hopefully in a few months time i'll have some funds to get my long awaited banded steels made up!!

Wheel advice Re staggered offset and wheel choice

hi m8, i have 9x16" et 15 borbet A's on the rear and im not stupidly lowered but its ok and will only rub if theres a shed load of people in! i have semi rolled the archs tho, dont be put off you can do that yourself just becareful and take your time!, up front is a 7.5 and i cant remember the et as im also useing a hub centric spacer to clear the caliper.. -
yo might want to leave it to someone that does paintless dent removal, otherwise you might make it worse and split the paint, i had some dents pulled on my old mk4 golf cost me £100 but the results were invisible! dont know exactly how they did it but if your paint isnt split dont touch it chances are they could pull them without the paint spliting,

-
looking sweet! i bet you just cant wait to get back in the drivers seat!!,

progress!! i got around to finishing the sunroof, bonnet, fuel filler flap and bonnet hinges!! prety happy with it so far! just gota wetsand and buff some dust nibs... 3 coats of 2k clear nothing special but 10x's better then before! which was matt black by an aersol cann!!! {not me btw} and the bonnet!!! the reason im re doing the bonnet is because {if you read the whole thread?} this was my first ever spray peice, even though it turned out ok at the time i didnt know about the guide coat technique when sanding {around the bonnet scoop repair} and as a result at the right angle you could see highs and lows and i know it could be improved alot! so far everything looks straight! more to follow :)

i dont wanna sound like johnny rain cloud but the prices imo doesnt justify it,http://spoonfedtuning.myshopify.com/collections/all especialy for the spoiler atleast {$450!!}, seeing as theres nothing wrong with the original, looks or function.

i want to do this on my golf vr daily as i just want that PURRRRR PURRRRR when cruzen! so is it bad with out that silencer???
-
realy glad to hear no corrados will be getting broken for spares or harmed with the purchase of that motor! ;) hope it goes well for you, as mentioned think it would be a good idea to do the clutch + crack pipe and thermostat +houseing, also water pump, also what about given it a lick of engine paint?
-
fair play, that is gona be one project!!!
-
i fully appreciate your position here, i was in exactly the same boat except i brought a vr6 and im sticking with it through its problems as a means to keep me interested, from a labour point of veiw its racked up no more then £150.00 as prety much all the work has been and is being done by myself, i guess for you though its all about what you want ? sounds to me like you actualy want a vr6, and if thats right? then imo your better off selling it to fund a vr6 thats in the condition and price range that your after, word of advice though, you pay for what you get, it may pay in the long run to spend that extra £500 -£1000 in getting one thats been looked after but it all depends on what your after.

Which braided hoses? 288mm front and standard rear
VW_OwneR_85 replied to Philuk's topic in Drivetrain
theres a load on ebay, if by chance theres nothing listed, just search mk4 golf breaking and message them about the calipers.. its well worth doing, a cheap and easy upgrade -
i dont think thats steep at all, you could buy alot worse with dodgey sun roof and no recent service history and some rust issues for like £1600 and this has all working electrics and recent service that cost £1400, think £1900 is prety damn good tbh, the main thing is it has no rust!

--------------1.8t or 24v 2.8/3.2-------------
-
i wouldnt worry to much, looks like its been looked after well, mentioned in the description had a service 4months ago costing £1400!! if they got the receipts then yea i wouldnt worry at all, most of the problems you would have to fix with buying a corrado have been already sorted.

First time Corrado buyer - looking to purchase this weekend
VW_OwneR_85 replied to Aran's topic in Newbies Hangout
lol at the colour comments! i prefer black cars so i wouldnt pay any more for a blackberry one :) aran rust can be an issue but depends on how much you buy the car for in the first place and your intentions with the car? you want a keeper? , mine had rust which was an absolute pita to sort out, i still havnet finished sorting it out yet but hopefuly next month it should be done n dusted, if i could do it all again i would of waited and spent alot more on one with good bodywork as thats where the money is, parts can be replaced like for like over most weekends at little cost but bodywork cant, -
imo mileage is irrelevant with old cars, the only thing that realy matters is a good solid rust free body! parts can be swapped over like for like, even if you have slight mechanical knowledge its not hard to learn, even engine swaps can be done, but sorting out rust and body work issues is where the money is! and you cant exactly swap over a rusted arch for a mint one over the weekend with a cuppa tea!! you could spend £1000's sorting that stuff out! and once you start you kinda got to go all the way otherwise its pointless, i.e fixing the rust you realy should sort the stonechips and the dents out aswell other wise its a wasted paint job, edit- also if thats the car above £1900? and mentioned in the description has no rust, idd buy it! like i said parts can be replacedwith ease but bodywork cant, there aint gona be many corrados out there that are rust free,

welcome to the forums, in regards to your suspension take a look at them, the previous owner may have fitted adjustable coilovers as opposed the standard fixed hieght coilovers {adjustment made by changeing springs}, in which case you can just jack one side up at a time and raise the height yourself untill your happy :)
