  1. i think it all boils down to weather or not your happy putting money in to it and not about getting your money back from selling it, lets face it most of us will never get our money back unless we were given the cars for nothing. im allways thinking about how much i can spend on my car before i go past the point were i cant get my money back, i went past that point months ago so selling it now isnt an option as idd be looseing out, right now im sorting the rust scabs out at the cost of my time and materials, so hopefully that will add abit of value and might get my money back from the parts iv replaced along the way, it certainley wont cover the cost of the milltek system and suspension so if im going to ever sell up idd swap those out for standard before i sell
  2. just stumbled across this thread, wow! thought idd best share it with you guys, http://vagdrivers.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=16835
  3. be a nice little runaround, you going to sort/stop the rust on the roof/windescreen area?
  4. i used to have a black 3door 2.0 gti mk4 which i realy liked! but sold it for the corrado which i dont regret, i will own another mk4 for sure at some point...
  5. does anybody know if these are still available ?? just saw the last post was 2006!!
  6. i think what the guy meant by scooby is he wanted more of the vr purrrr purrrr enhanced and not to actualy sound like a scooby, is a bmc realy all that?! might have to get one!! just looked on ebay for bmc cda and there prety expensive! is there one specificly for the corrado vr? or is the mk3 golf vr6 the one to get? cheers... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMC-CDA-Induction-Kit-VW-GOLF-Mk3-2-8-VR6-/310349464378?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item484245033a
  7. i have milltek decat system , sounds allright to me :) i did have a subaru style exhaust {i.e 4" drain pipe back box} before that but it did my car no good!! as it sounded to loud and the throtle response was realy bad!! but did sound abit meatier on idle but the milltek is the 5h1t!!!!
  8. maybe because your in the car and it will sound different, get someone else to drive past you, bet it sounds alot better then you think :)
  9. just tryed looking on etka for it and i cant find it!!! the only sensor i can find that looks the same is called engine speed sensor 021 906 433A this the same thing?, my engine runs fine sometimes takes awhile to start especialy when warm, iv got new temp senders for ecu and gauge, my m8 cleared some faults on vag com a few months ago and there was a fault camxxxxxx? cant remember exactly ,but we did start the program with the engine off so thats probably why, other then that nothing was out of the ordinary, its only because iv been driveing the mk3 vr6 iv thought maybe somethings not right as the mk3 vr6's acceleration is alot more lively!!! compared to the corrado, i can actualy feel it push me into the seat and im the driver!. ill get my m8 to scan it again at somepoint and see what comes up... cheers
  10. ah ok so whats that sensor i just mentioned ? i was certain that was the cam postion sensor, my engine is a dizzy not coil pack, reason i ask is because i think my corrado vr6 is down on power as my mk3 vr6 {dizzy} just seems alot more brutal on acceleration then the corrado, thought it might be worth replaceing that sensor seeing as i have no idea when it was last replaced anyway.
  11. the cam position sensor, is this also called the knock sensor? and is this located on the front of the engine by the oil filter houseing? just bolts to the block by an m6 allen head bolt? cheers.
  12. i live in guernsey in the channel islands, theres a few corrados over here, most of them would have around 60k on the clock due to where we live you cant drive for that long hence why our mileage low on our cars! wouldnt say its worth any more then higher mileage ones in the uk though
  13. got mine from demon tweeks aswell, you shouldnt have a problem just send em the photos if needed as proof..
  14. ah that sucks man, i wouldnt be happy with that, the front is only going to rise more when you accelerate,i brought the weitec hicon gt adjustable coilovers and they turned out to be prety good, did you buy the springs new? or secondhand?
  15. yea man i know exactly where your commin from about haven a tidy car! the hassel that comes with them can be to much.im loveing my daily driver, its a rusted 5door mk3 vr6 which i got for £200 i can park it anywhere! and drive it anywhere! hassel free!... anyway keep it comming!! you gona put a clear coat over the rust? or just leave it?
  16. yea sound no worrys, if you get stuck just post back, you also might want to have an old blanket or cardboard down so you can put the bumper on when its off,
  17. yep, its quite easy, first remove the fog lights and indicators, they prize out then use a skrew driver to undo the foglight surround and pull it out of the bumper then unplug them,{oh one of them skrews is an adjustment skrew and will just turn and turn, your know which one, now depending on how low your car is, my chin spoiler was removed from my bumper so i didnt have to jack up my car to remove/install my bumper but you may have to! so assumeing the front of your car is jacked up you want to place a jack directly under the front crossbar engine mount and raise it slightly to take a bit of weight off it,now look at either end of the cross bar you will see 3 bolts in a row! {left and right side}you need to remove the 2 end bolts and leave the one in the middle alone!! that bolt is what is now holding the cross bar to the chassis. so just to clarify you have a row of 3 bolts at either end of the crossbar, those 3 bolts all help secure the crossbar to the chassis but only 2 of them secure the bumper aswell so once you remove the 2 end bolts, only 1 bolt is now takeing the weight of some of the engine/gearbox which is why i said place a jack under the front mount, now once you have undone the 4 bolts{in total} so 2 either side, you can just slide the bumper out towards the front..this is the best i can do, there is a guide on the net somewhere so have a butchers, i think the socket for the bumper is 17mm or 19mm? the bolt in the middle is a different size so to make an error you would have to swap sockets, aslong as you have a jack under the front mount you cant realy go wrong..
  18. for what its worth just get the plastic oem from vw..
  19. just realised i posted this in memebers gallery, was supposed to be in general car chat {mod please move if you see this} yea i know what you mean its fine as it is, but next year im gona be on the look out for a "keeper" and i realy dont want a sunroof, iv only seen a handful about, dont know about the carbon roof thing, i did think about that as my current one has rust bubbling around the top corners of the windscreen but i dont have the skill to fit a new roof and theres noway i can afford to have a roof fitted at a bodyshop, might aswell buy another corrado if thats the case as the bill wouldnt be far off.
  20. what are the chances of me finding a black corrado vr6 with no sunroof? or any corrado with no sunroof for that matter? i think next year sometime im gona be on the look out for another corrado, i realy dont want a sunroof and my fav colour for a car is black!!
  21. same here bud my plan is to get my rust issues sorted which ive already started and from the moment i started its an absolute pita!! its threads like this which kinda makes me just wanna enjoy what i got even if my cars roof is non existant next year because of rust!, but i cant do that! cant give up yet!
  22. yep agreeed ^ i have friends that think when they buy a car that they dont need a service or they shouldnt spend money on it as they just brought it,lol you can only imagine the state its going to be in when they sell it on :0 , where as me, i see it as an investment! its almost like a bank holding your money but in the shape of a car! look after it! and your get ya money back! well some of it ;)
  23. LOL possibly the only corrado owner thats happy about rust? " rust is comming on well"
  24. aslong as you dont have to get your car driveable at the end of the day dont be scared to have ago, everythings fixable! if i had to pay for the labour on my car, i would have no money in my bank right now!, theres loads of how to guides on the internet so have a read and get stuck in !!! and tackle these things one at a time, iv found everything seems more technical or harder then it actualy is.
  25. looks clean!! funky looking engine bay! like a 90's disco :) do you know if theres a diagnostic port? also did the previous owner mention anything that may indicate a problem?
