worn ignition switch? maybe try wiggling the key a little whilst turning it over? see if that helps?

got a windscreen on order localy costing me £80.00 apparently, seems a little cheap? anyway when it arrives the week after ill be haveing a bash at it, think the plan is to do the repair myself, weld/fill, prime with 2k primer and maybe get a local body shop to do the colour and clear, well see how it goes, ill keep you guys informed but wont happen untill atleast 3weeks...

yo, dont waste your time with glue or sticky pads, glue = sticky mess, stickey pad= they normaly fall of when the weather gets hot, drill holes and use nice show worthy skrews, something with a nice head!! and just mark the holes on your other plates and drill em!!

its realy hard to say, as the index is sections and the pages arent numbered like that, but at a guess i would say yes more then 1060, its roughly 3" thick and looks like a bigger phone book, probably the same as the pdf copy cd's on ebay that go for £7.00, i.e not the whole manual, just parts of it that someone has scanned to make abit of cash, still useful though no doubt
-
i brought the one on cd awhile back aswell, basiclay its just scanned images of the bentley manual, but after realising theres only a small fraction of info scanned on to that disc i brought a second hand bentley manual from ebay, the thing is HUGE! well worth the moneys :)

thanks man much appreciated, for me its all about DIY its what keeps me interested although im realy not looking forward to removeing the windscreen and getting rid of the rust bubbles :( got to be done though

tackled my door pin last week! so happy with that, no more sagging door! door is realy smooth and shuts perfect! also painted the damaged paint area afterwards. now this next bit may not be to your likeing! but im happy with it!! due to smoothing the front bumper i had to relocate the indicators, i decided to use the highbeam bulb area in the head lamp for it, now here in guernsey in the channel islands you cannot drive with highbeam on for more then 30seconds unless your driveing around at 2am as you will allways dazzle other road users, our roads are very small!, anyway turns out that i still have a highbeam as it uses two bulbs so i can still flash but obviously wont be as bright as it was on highbeam,, your thoughts on this? i love it :)
-
yo im also from guernsey!!! also have a vr6!, recently had my headlights apart seen the main bulb bit is actualy 2 bulbs linked together by to wires in the back, have you checked the connections of these for corrosion??

omg! that is horrid!! a few subtle mods eh ;) sadly theres a few on ebay, R.I.P c, one of the reasons i like VW's is you dont normaly get idiot teenagers fitting fibre glass body kits!! and revving around with a ****ty exhausts at 7000rpm,its not about makeing your car "look fast" if anything its makeing your car look slower then it actualy is,Less is more! -
leon them lights look sick!!! just thinking would it be possible to add a shade of black into the clearcoat for a slightly darker tint?

well it depends on what condition the car is! if its prety much got rust bubbles here and there and the paint aint that great and you cant afford to spend £2000 + getting the body issues sorted then ratted to a certain degree is ok imo. i.e home diy rust repair finished off with sattin black paint, but i guess that wouldnt be a proper ratted car, otherwise if you ratt a corrado thats prety much in good/ok condition you need a blady good smack imo!! -
where i live {channel islands}there isnt any windscreen companys, all we have is bodyshops {insurance jobys} which literaly charge the earth !! so getting someone else to take my rear screen out when im capable is a no go area, is there a seal thats bonded to the screen itself? like on the mk4 golf? or is the seal a seperate item? cheers...
-
bringing this thread back from the DeAd!! quicky did you manage to do yours in the end? as i wouldnt mind removeing my glass as i want to smooth off the wiper hole and sort out some rust areas...
-
as per the title??? i have got some 7.5" borbet A's for the front to match my 9's on the back and would like a little stretch, this size would be ideal!! anybody know? iv searched with no results :( cheers..
-
its an easy one, just prise off the trim for the inner handle and the trim for inner door lever, all skrews etc will become obvious when you do it, dont worry about the electrics as the plugs only go in one way and you cant realy mess them up, also while the door cards off check the connector blocks for the electric mirrors as one of the connectors had corrosion on mine which is why my mirrors didnt move.
-
i dont have a leak but i need my screen taken out to repair two paint bubbles in either top corner, im prety sure them seals do jack diddly sqaut appart from finish it off for appearance, the screens are glued in and thats what keeps the water out.anybody taken there screens out before?
-
nice work dave, you realy cant beat getting stuck in!!! i know what you mean about useing it as a daily as mine was also a daily but i didnt realy loose interest, it was just realy hard/stressful working on it and haveing to finish it the same day and now my daily is a mk3 golf vr6! :) so its time to sort out these little problems, brake lines is on the cards!. i agree rob, corrados and sunroofs dont mix! i realy wish i didnt have a sunroof! i realy cant stand them...
-
ah i see clever method, ill remember that as i do have access to a mig welder :) its also surprising how blady heavey those doors are!! think they need to go on a diet!!!.

loveing that interior!!!!! -
thanks man, so glad ive done it. thought the hard part would be the wires in the door etc but tbh it was actualy removeing that pin! thought that draper G clamp would press it straight out, lol when it cracked the G clamp i was like "oh $%£! now what am i gona do?!" :(
-
this is something ill be doing soon, im not going crazy with it though, just around the sills where previous owners have destroyed it with badly placed jacks :( also could do with straightening them out ARGHHH!!
-
right! the hinge half arrived this morning, it also comes with a copper bush! {which may look like thin washers either side of the half hinge}which is another part that gets worn away! the pin needed to be pressed back in with the ball joint spliter, also greased the hell out of it! and its a very tight fit!! im sure some of you have bigger hammers then me! so a punch may work but mine didnt, also found the reason why my electric mirrors wernt working! the conntacts on the connecters were corroded!! so now everything works as it should!! door action is silky smooooooth! well chuffed :) i also gave it abit of paint to match but i didnt take anymore pics after this one
-
thanking you! thats perfect

hello, while were on the topic of headlights, are they easy to remove? just the skrews on the clips on top? then unplug? also can the glass be seperated from the main body? thanks...
