I've done this a few times back in the day, helps keep the pads from heating up too much if you are inexperienced but it can be messy and the pad will need cleaning as you go along ( the fact it's already wet makes this easier though )

they just quoted me £1226 for my Vr6 , a tad more than the two quotes i have for just over £400 !!!!

In my experience of lithium battery power tools the batteries dont last much longer than that before refusing to charge and needing replacing LOL !

Phew !! I swerved to avoid a ( already dead ) dog in the road a few years ago , i put two wheels on the verge , span across the country road i was on and shot head on into a ditch which barrelled rolled the car several times with it ending up on its roof. Like you i was lucky to not be hurt but my wallet took a hit, and the mrs got a shock when she turned up to collect me . As she rounded the corner she could the reflection of my no. plate upside down facing the wrong way in the bottom of a ditch. To make it worse the feds had it recovered as people were stopping to see if anyone was inside even after i'd gone home so the recovery fees were higher than they would have been the following morning when i'd planned to sort it out. It was interesting sitting upside down held in by my seatbelt before opening the side window and sliding out on my back as the roof had been crushed.

I changed my seamaster chronograph professional divers watch after it threw a paddy and wouldn't keep time to any degree of accuracy, my Omega dealer diagnosed a 9 week trip to the factory for my watch and a minimum £250 bill ( it was only 3 years old ) px'd it for my speedmaster that has the later movement and now nearly 10 years later she's still behaving. Still miss the open mouthed stares when watch savvy peaople saw the size of the Seamaster !

I asked my self the same question mate and ended up going 288mm drilled and grooved rotors ( unknown make ) with mintex pads up front and mkIV calipers with standard discs and pads at rear, i can really stand it on its nose now and i actually have a handbrake ! Mine did click slightly when the stuck on balance weights touched the calipers but this soon stopped strangely enough :)

Hey man which one is yours, I've seen a green one in sowerby, black G60 (I think) a few times and I know of a couple garaged up ' Mine is a Ice grey violet pearl VR6 in skircoat green. It might take a while for your rear disc to wear down and they are not expensive so i think i'd replace them , depends how loud and annoying the noise is.

Yeah got mine from VW dealer three months ago with no worries, it does sometimes depend whether or not the person serving you can be bothered i think . I also got just about the last radiator elbow and seal after mine had started to weep coolant when pressurised.
