chances are new valve seals would restore it for a while , you maybe able to lend a tool that lets you fit them without taking the head off cost next to nothing then
  2. carb cleaner or thinners i ported mine out with a dremel....just smooth and remove anything that looks in the way... i also slimmed down the spindles and screw heads
  3. 40k is a safe bet , meaning the charger should be able to be rebuilt again to near new condition...if you run it over theres a chance certain bits can be damaged/worn that are then beyond repair is there anything you can do to prolong the life?? yes , regular oil changes , regular air filters either vag or a quality panel filter ..and NEVER hit the rev limiter. you can also diy change the small toothed belt every year or so

  7. tappets are about £8 each at gsf....you can get them apart to clean them or use a flushing oil, but if yours never goes away i doubt flushing oil will fix it
  8. id suggest you try and work it out propery....maybe fix the odo, as you cannot trust the mfa display causes for bad consumption.....flat tyres, binding brakes, engine needs a service and or set up
  9. chances are its tappets....no big deal if it is why dont you get someone with a little experiance to have a listen , its not hard to diagnose if the tappets are at fault

  15. you can set the timing on the pulley end...it may not be as accurate but it should be close enough
  16. if you trust the dealer then speak with them direct about the problem, it sounds like the basics are there
  17. do you trust the garage 100% ? if the cam and ign timing is correct and the c/o somewhere close it should be somewhere close are all your service items like plugs /filters etc recent?
  18. the car wont use more fuel with a 2% C/O at idle , as its only an idle ajustment the wur regulator affects the at speed mixture via the fuel pressure.....thats why people have the wur mod performed
