thats a clean head....what oil have you been using maybe it got hot tanked when they fitted the fibre gasket
-
while its true a high boost figure doesnt mean better , surely we should all expect to see like for like figures as long as we have the same cam/head combo
-
anyones guess really, depends how its been looked after and driven my 16v has done 160k and feels like it has plenty left
-
i plumbed mine in on the mfa pipe under the dash....keeps it simple i hit 16psi at redline with a 68mm pulley
-
not many places will have those... try a good paint/bodyshop supply place , they may have one, or at least a huge book of swatches to match it up
-
the outer pulley will come off now....just needs a tap with a hammy the center bolt holds on the toothed wheel that the cam belt runs on...that bolt will be proper tight, you will need to stop the engine turning somehow
-
idealy youd want to use the step #1 and #2 then nxt wax....nxt is superior to megs #3 if you struggle to remove nxt, you are putting on way too much...it only needs the thinest of covering
-
yeah mine runs for 20+ mins
-
just had a look at my g60...its fairly unmolested red cap..green stuff inside
-
i need a front linkpipe for a mk2 golf 16v...seems theyre around £33 but 2 places ive called want £15 postage which ruins the deal any ideas on a place thats sensible on postage or do they sell direct? or a place i can collect near cambridge? id probably consider another brand too if anyone has any suggestions

what paint did you use?
-
get a body shop to etch prime and use use car paint...i did my rocker cover like 6 + yrs ago and its still fine
-
i noticed last night when i was driving with cars lights right behind me that if i hoof my g60 really hard from low revs , it leaves a slight haze which i assume can only be unburnt fuel the car doesnt use a touch of oil , so i can rule that out i have the sns chip with a 3 bar fpr...emmisions and wideband check out ok has anyone else noticed thier g60 do it?
-
thinners,petrol or gunk
-
why dont you try it say 5 deg incase you have a really agressive chip? on mine if you drove to redline at say 90% wot it would be okay...it just did it at wot
-
didnt know that steve..yeah that sure i easier to store that way too
-
my dealer quoted £37 for a 25l drum of silver....says its castrol oil
-
are you using superunleaded or optimax? id wind it back a touch...pinking is bad :(
-
the knock sensor is on the block under number 1 plug area mine used to hold back at about 4500-5k ? after a few more sns chips its gone now you could make sure the timing is at 6 deg and you have superunleaded or even run it at 5deg and see if its smooth...then crank it up a bit at a time
-
mine ran badly with a universal o2 sensor..prob best to get a bosch one when you can anyway the holding back bit...could it be the knock sensor pulling back timing? i think they wizz through 1st and 2nd so fast you wouldnt notice it so bad

about the gas/petrol USA has a differant rating system to us, put the highest grade in that you can get.
-
should only be a 65 or a 90a for a g60.....should be a sticker to say what yours is if yours has the 65, you can upgrade to 90 for better charging
