chances are new valve seals would restore it for a while , you maybe able to lend a tool that lets you fit them without taking the head off cost next to nothing then

carb cleaner or thinners i ported mine out with a dremel....just smooth and remove anything that looks in the way... i also slimmed down the spindles and screw heads

40k is a safe bet , meaning the charger should be able to be rebuilt again to near new condition...if you run it over theres a chance certain bits can be damaged/worn that are then beyond repair is there anything you can do to prolong the life?? yes , regular oil changes , regular air filters either vag or a quality panel filter ..and NEVER hit the rev limiter. you can also diy change the small toothed belt every year or so

bet its a bad earth or dodgy connection causing dud readings

ATF gear oil is a ace flush , lots of people use it over on clubgti i put some in our old junker polo and it cleaned it a treat

tappets are about £8 each at gsf....you can get them apart to clean them or use a flushing oil, but if yours never goes away i doubt flushing oil will fix it

id suggest you try and work it out propery....maybe fix the odo, as you cannot trust the mfa display causes for bad consumption.....flat tyres,binding brakes,engine needs a service and or set up

chances are its tappets....no big deal if it is why dont you get someone with a little experiance to have a listen , its not hard to diagnose if the tappets are at fault

whats the milage on it? maybe new guides and seals?

i couldnt put up with it ...maybe im getting old try running the car with the lower part of the airbox off....make sure the filter is still in place , just to give you a idea of how loud they are

been trying to find some info /pics of that mk2 vw made with 2 engines anyone got any links?

you can set the timing on the pulley end...it may not be as accurate but it should be close enough

if you trust the dealer then speak with them direct about the problem, it sounds like the basics are there

do you trust the garage 100% ? if the cam and ign timing is correct and the c/o somewhere close it should be somewhere close are all your service items like plugs /filters etc recent?

the car wont use more fuel with a 2% C/O at idle , as its only an idle ajustment the wur regulator affects the at speed mixture via the fuel pressure.....thats why people have the wur mod performed

not sure how they fit corrados , but i got one for a g60 golf and it was terrible

1/4 drive socket and a wobble extension gets to em easy

do your self a favour and never go see jabba for anything g60 related :lol:

if its the 16v in your sig, ive always found mine will stall easily straight after a cold start , and if you do stall it its a pig to restart

u sure the alt is turning on? whats the batt voltage at standstill? does the batt light work?

i remade mine out of 4 gauge cable...its like as thick as your little finger, no voltage drops on mine http://www.vehiclewiringproducts.co.uk has all the ends and heat shrink etc
