16v golf gti 1989....been running fine , today i went out and after 1 mile i felt a sudden loss of power for a second and then it was back to normal, as i got further it got to be a random bad misfire/80% power loss. the car didnt stall and would idle normaly, the fault was worse the bigger the load you put on the car while it was doing this the rev counter kept falling to 0 and generaly going mad...im not too clued up on ign related problems but does that point to a hall sender/coil prob? fwiw i yanked on the dist connector and checked the ecu pulg...all appeared fine , no corrosion etc

im looking for info/advice on how the k jet fuel distributer comes apart? id like to clean/service a spare one i have here is it straight forward? or better left alone
-
you can leave the charger on, but you need to remove the main belt to gain access, the pulley needs to come off too i also took the airbox out to make things easier....took me well under a hour all in
-
im sure jabba would have changed it....its all the cheap bits they put inside you need to worry about as for swaping the belt...turn the pulley and you will see both shafts have a notch , the notches need to point at 12 o clock and line up with a line cast into the case...spin the charger by hand to confirm you got it right before starting up
-
just wanted to no if this would fit my raddo g60?

ive replaced the seals on vw's with 100-130 k and theyve lasted another 3 years till i sold the cars on with no more smoke if the engine has got mega miles or been abused then id prob go for guides too the seals just go hard thats why they leak....oh and id suggest genuine ones
