gearbox ...get 2 ltrs of redline mt90(must be redline no other brands) avail at demon tweeks or c&r...that will make a huge improvement on the shifting the difficult selection is becuase the cables need ajusting...i think someone posted on here how to do it..have a look also when the gearstick end has beed ajusted..slacken both cables at the gearbox...wiggle the gearstick and tighten em, try it then re ajust and so on

are boxters really that slow?...id never have dared race one
-
i dunno how you get the bolt out...try asking on the g60 forum on vw vortex.com...ive seenit mentioned on there before
-
dont get fleeced for parts..vw gaskets are cheep,my 1.8 one was £10 ..pattern bolts £35 ....its not a hard job cant any freinds do it for ya?
-
as above cam belt tensioner injector sleeves and o rings(usually cause trouble and cheep to do) alt voltage reg...restores full power in most cases for £12ish dist cap & arm id also advise looking into making heavy duty batt/alt cables and headlight relays..makes a huge differance
-
c&r told me just do the front..because that takes most of the abuse and keeping the others std makes for smooth motoring
-
i use the vibra mount....i had a few std ones fail ,but the vibra is good ,less movement and no extra vibration (which you can get with other brands)
-
jims16v....although that one on the bonnet is an earth strap..it not the problem area look at you battery..follow the lead from the - terminal ...it should bolt to the inner wing then follow on to the gearbox...unbolt it and sandpaper/wire brush it till its really clean the bolt it up tight and wipe some grease over it my g60 had poor wiring...i purchased some 4guage wire from the local stereo shop..i replaced the batt +&- and the alt to starter i also made a extra eatrh lead form the block to the alt...for the sake of £20 it made a big differance,i picked up an extra 1 volt at the battery and it starts quicker maybe worth a go if you can solder fat wire( need a butane torch)

id be happy to mix esso ultron of another viscosity..in fact any fully syn should be ok....obviously mixing another brand will dilute any additives and alter the viscosity, buy not enough to care about btw...id try something a little thicker if its using that much....is it a high miler?? mine dont use any at all at 90k ...and my 16v has 150 on it and dont use none
-
advice??....fit the biggest one you can get/afford..
-
i doubt youd need a rechip for the ic...although a sns would offer anti lag and safer fueling
-
110 sounds normal or even good for this weather...differant oils have a slight effect on temp as for jerkiness....front engine mounts fail often, mine was jerky because the throttle stop switch was not ajusted right....and too much timing will make it jumpy
-
how big is the clay bar? and can i use with soapy water or do i need special swissol stuff
-
id imagine any metal would hold heat....use heat reflective material if your that concered about heat soak
-
yeah any mk2 golf 1.8 will deffo fit....g60 ones arent upgraded at all im told

i work at a garage..we get a few cars in that have been lowered and not declared on the ins...as long as you dont go mad i.e drop it 25-40mm max then you wont get any trouble in theory they can kick up if your car has a pin stripe etc, dont worry as long as your sensible they tend to look at nova boys with 5" exhausts and stupid mods
-
the idle screw is on the back edge of the inlet manifold
-
sounds like they werent sure what was wrong.....best drop the sump and inspect things,if its filthy in there a good clean out of the pick up tube will improve things...if its had a hard life then a new oil pump would be a good idea the cam belt and chain are cheep..and fiarly striaght forward if your handy at diy
-
endor71..i got mine from ebay.com....search for #30 ,30lb injector...theyre from ford motorsport ...i sold my other set ( they come in sets of 8) so they cost me £65 for 4....have a look theres new ,used and alsorts on there dubcharged...what does the version 3 consist off?? just intrested

well your right....the stat will go on with a little work..leave the pump till you remove the charger ***tip**** drain the coolant the day before, then it wont drip in your face while working under there :x
