    3.68 Final drive

That looks awesome, says that it pays for itself after 56k but that's only financially, the convenience/comfort benefits would count for a lot too.
  2. Yeah I guess that once the nearside is correct that should be zero toe with the rack central so then the offside is just adjusted into zero also and away you go :) I'm doing it tomorrow so i'll let you know if it's as simple as it sounds!
  3. Yeah mine did too, until I messed with it one too many times. Now it drives perfectly until I need full left hand lock. Left is always left on a vehicle regardless of which end you are at. It's always from a drivers perspective.
  4. The oem rear beam bushes allow some movement to assist with steering
  5. Right, for those of you that don't know this, the tracking/toe on the Corrado must only be adjusted on the RIGHT track rod end. The left must be measured from the base of where the track rod meets the rack when installed (ie not including thread) to the dead centre of the track rod end spindle. VR6 must be 406mm +/-1mm G60 with 185/60 and 195/60 tyres must be 379.5mm +/-1mm G60 with 205/60 tyres must be 383mm +/-1mm (This is from the Bentley manual so does not contain 16v :( although i'm certain someone will know whether the G60 measurements apply) Once you have this measurement on the left side you must bring the right into the correct toe spec as normal. This will keep your rack nice and central :) I thought this should be said as I have adjusted mine a few times recently the usual way thinking 'oh it'll be fine theres plenty of thread/rack to go around' but there really isn't and now I have an awful left hand lock :( And it keeps taking me by suprise when I keep nearly crashing into stuff  Seriously though do it properly or at least make sure your garage know the procedure.
  6. That might work if one washer is a larger diameter than the recess in the arm. Polybushes are quite easy to get in anyway, I used a small vice and a block of wood.

Cheers for the replies guys :) Andy, I will have first dibs on that badboy then! Yeah my credit card has taken quite a beating but you know what they say "free money's free money"
  8. I'm pretty sure thats all I did, maybe worth slackening the front mount top bolt too.

    Synta Platinum

Changed my oil the other day, while on the phone to TPS I asked what oil was listed to go in the VR6 and they said platinum, so I put that in. Anyhow my oil temps were around 118 on the MFA on the way to national day. Before with synta silver I was getting about 114 max. Anybody else use Platinum?
  10. I think I know which wheels you have now. Love the centre caps :)

    VR6 Gearbox

The AGK has different ratio's perhaps, CCM and CHN both have the same so should feel the same.

    VR6 Gearbox

The code on yours should be CHN as far as i'm aware Mark :)
  13. Yeah erm....got stuck behind a robin reliant or something
  14. Awesome convoy, it really made the drive go so quickly too, motorway driving is usually monotonous as hell but we flew in formation and destroyed the objective (or rather arrived promptly and safely) Well done Jake :)
  15. Always nice to see a purposeful looking estate (always loved sports estates, ever since I laid eyes upon the RS2), love the subtle spoiler :)

    3.68 Final drive

Anybody have one? Or a cheap AYL, AYN, CES or CGY gearbox?
  17. Very nice seats jake, how do they compare to the standard ones?
  18. Cheers guys for the replies just had a pm on a Blackberry so should find out about that tomorrow. :)
  19. Lee i've only worked at main dealers and have seen this before but we would only replace the alternator, in 10 years i've never seen an alternator taken apart. I don't know if an auto engineer would know any different though?
  20. Hi guys, looking for a physically good condition rear bumper preferably blackberry as near to gloucester as possible asap if anyone can help :)
  21. It was Sextons on Bristol road, Gloucester. It was a pretty decent service, quite helpful but they did break some stuff. Alarms been fine though. And they did cable-tie something onto my light wiring loom under the dash which I thought was a bit lazy. But I have no reference point with alarm/audio fitters and i'm sure people have had worse.
  22. Sounds like he's taking you for a mushy pea! I had a Toad Ai606 fitted recently and he mapped the total closure function to the bottom right button on the remote (just hold it down). He said for some reason you couldn't have it all on one button but it closes all windows and sunroof. No they didn't say anything about upgrading. Just looked on the Toad website and it says there should be total closure on arming and from button four but like I said you apparently cannot do it when arming but I definitely can with button four. Maybe that's what the guy means, have you tried button four?
