  1. I've had Samco on all sorts of cars, including a 340bhp Octavia that had the conversion done 10 years before.....hoses were fine and that car took a beating every day.
  2. Yep, already on the case. I've got some plastic weld and will stick a block of plastic behind it to reinforce. Great condition otherwise though, thanks a lot!
  3. Yeah, I have a 150bhp golf mk7 golf GT TDi and for a "warm hatch" it is a very well sorted car. Pulls really well, midrange is awesome and handles really well too. However the Corrado is still quicker by a good way, I've timed it around a local run I do.
  4. The 12V is a good DIY engine, easy to work on. I'd be a little afraid of tinkering with an R32 unit myself. Good on you guys who will take that on! Fitting my own SC is about as far as I can go.
  5. Mine arrived today, really well packed. Thanks a lot!
  6. Montreal IIs for the win mate, I did the same. Ditched the 17" TT comps for Monty IIs which are actually very light and well made (BBS) I think they really suit the raddo.
  7. I remember that old girl well. I used to have a Burgundy pearl valver back in 1999, did a ported head, cams, and K-Star. I remember when you ordered that Blue silicone hose to the expansion tank and I got you to order me one too. Picked it up off you at GTI international. I can't believe you still have that car!
  8. Cheers Dave, I think I might just be getting paranoid. Almost everything I have looked into on this car has turned out to need some work (I am very fussy) and so I'm almost used to having to replace everything ;)
  9. Checked the fans today and not sure if things are alright? Took the car for a run, oil to 103c and water at just under 90c, pulled up and let her sit running. Temp rose to just above 90c and the fan came on for about 30secs, then it went off. Got to about 100c and came back on, ran for 30secs and then off. Got to just under 110c, fan came on and stayed on. Temp dropped to 100s ish, fan went off.....I stopped the engine at that point. Fan came on whilst engine was off, ran for a while. All safe and no overheating but the fan didn't stay on for very long at each stage, apart from the last?
  10. Guys, I am happy with Stealth. As I was saying in my earlier thread. The only reason for Motorscope was that I was talking about a Northern RR day rather than a general forum event.
  11. I did read up a bit ;) generally the opinion is that with the charger, you won't feel the benefit of the VGI
  12. I wouldn't use Motorscope to work on my car but their rollers seem to be fairly accurate and their RR days are cheap at £40 for 3 runs. Never seen them treat a car badly on the RR days I've been on.
  13. Hey guys, yep I am up for this. I was originally planning a Northern RR day at Motorscope in Northallerton as Stealth is bloody miles away from Newcastle ;) But I could be persuaded as Vince did my mapping for my charger via mail order, and so getting it looked at on the rollers would be good. I can do anytime in October but not November as my tax will have run out and I'm sorning the car over winter so I can strip and powdercoat a load of bits (subframe, cross member, rear beam etc)
  14. I got mine from VW Heritage about 6 months ago.
  15. Haha, well with the charger probably not as I'm not sure if it would be OK to boost a Shrick as well?
  16. Oh mate, thats gutting. Have you advertised it elsewhere? plus you've got no pictures of the bad bits (people like to see how bad for themselves) and also of the dash and drivers seat (bolster wear etc) BTW if you do part it out, I'd buy the wheels ;)
  17. Today, as the wather is cooler it is fine. Mainly seeing 110 on the gauge in 25-30c ambient temps and sat in stop start traffic. Will keep my eye on it, more of a concern as the super charger is about to go on and so that will push temps up more....although I have a 16row oil cooler going on there too, should balance it.
  18. It's a genuine DDI inverter and when I had it installed it would dim from the headlamp switch.
  19. That should say 25 quid posted, bloody tapatalk!
  20. I have one, my speedo dial failed and so I have a spare inverter, rev gauge and fuel/water. £25 (posted) for the inverter, it is the 4 line one should you later buy the volt and oil gauge pod. Cheers Ron
  21. Cool, thanks guys. I have Vagcom and my car has a new Blue sensor so I can check the actual temp. Will double check the fans coming on. Car had a new water pump about 10K miles ago.
  22. Thats the thing, I havent heard my fans for a while now?
