sorry, run that by me again? a 'carefully' driven VR6 you say?? nope, sorry, I just can't grasp the idea of that at all..... how on earth can you lift your foot OFF the accelerator when it sounds so good above 4000rpm?

Mine doesn't creak, it feels a lot stiffer than any of my mk2's too.

The bearings in your top mounts have probably seized up, and it's casueing it to grip the upper spring cup. the noise you can hear is the spring as it's being turned.

so they put the original one back in? IIRC, they are bonded in to stiffen up the shell.

convert it to a syncro whilst you're doing the work. I did with my mk2 when I took the rear panel off and found the boot floor to be bent.

You do realise once you've ran the engine you should net discoonect the battery for 20 seconds because the wire in the MAF is burning off comtaminents.

I'm a huge fan of 9x16"s, they look awesome. I've had Azev K's, Borbet A's and Borbet T's, loved them all. Moving on to 9x17" now.

Mines new too. all the way from sunny Florida. £850 for a car alarm, who are they trying to kid? I might sell the remote start function off it, can't see the point.
