So true. People only go because it's called GTI international. If they took the name away it'd just be some poxy little show. But for that reason it'll probably never die off completely. It was the worst show of the entire season last year. I was bored rigid. Fair enough, I was in my old Golf GL and had a trade stand, when usually I'm sprinting or showing. But the whole show had comletely lost it's character and ambience. It's too money orientated, it should be VW orientated. It's not setup to give us the show we want, it's purely there to make Autometrix money, and that stinks. Anyone who went to Edition 38 will confirm that the more laid back approach made for a FAR batter show. It's about time there was another show, something to knock GTI international into the weeds so it dies off along with the greedy b4stard who run it.

Inters is turning into a farce.it's never been right since they took it away from the wondeful TRL. I think it may die of death this year. I can see a lot of people boycotting it as it's become far too commercialised. There was harldy any cars on show last year, its was sh1te.

who's the daddy? who's got the biggest wheels on there car?

Oh well, its a mk2 golf anyway,a nd I've since sold those wheels. -
Only a 6Kg weight saving?? I don't think so. have you any idea how much the corrado bonet weighs?!!? As for spending the money on the engine instead, that's the biggest load of b4lls I've heard all year. Weigh saving is far more effective than engine tuning. You can't do much to the VR6 with £500 except maybe a set of cams or a re-chip. Oh, and before you lecture me on drag racing and weight saving you might want to take a look at my last project car.... It ran a 13.75. Which, as far as I know, is the fastest normally aspirated VR6 in the country.

What's the matter with you lot? wide wheels that fill the arch look loads better thant skinny ones tucked up in the arches. At least they fit, not like some of those daft Euro barges where the wheel sticks out 2", that looks stupid. -

If it was actually funny I might have laughed.......... I was SO p1ssed off that weekend, hardly sold a thing, everyone wanted stuff for hal the price I was asking, even though it was already reasonably priced. Maybe you have to have a big company name and a banner before you can charge top money for second hand wheels..... -
LMAO! if it's got a dizzy, it ain't got a coil pack....

yeah, but they're all sh1te due to my narrow garage and the state of the car. -
Well they only made them without them for year, so it's likely. otherwise I bet the dizzy cap and rotor arm are worn out. they usually are!

I've got some 9x17" porsche wheels. haven't got them on yet though due to the ridiculous low offset on them. I had 9.5 x18" cup 2 split rims on my mk2! -
right hand end of the engine as you look at it from the front of the car. the 6 HT leads come off it.
-
Try spraying water on the leads and coil pack and see if you can see any sparks jumping anywehre. if you can, wherever the sparks are there's a break in the insulation or a crack in the coil pack.
-
The bang was probably the car back firing. sounds like the coil pack could be on it's way out.

Do you need wipers at 100mph? won't the water just blow off?

I'm looking to spend £600 max, and I want a carbon one with a red kevlar weave in it (so it looks purple). If you see one, let me know please.

Yep, mk4's have the same calipers too, but you can't use the discs. The speedlines will only be on until I sort out the porsche brakes. Then they'll be going. as they won't fit. -
Golf Rallye style bonnet hinge hooks would solve that problem. Then again, if I crashed my Corrado I'd want to die!
