Good man, I have one here that's stuck to a boot lid with sikaflex so I know I ain't getting it off!! Keep me posted buddy. Once on I will post a few pics of my full respray!!

I had a windscreen fitter take mine out a couple of weeks ago for my respray, he used the wire method but it did take him a while! It looked like a pain of a job too!

Thanks everyone, all sorted now! It was the 2 bolts holding the gearstick mechanism in place, they had worked loose. Tightened them both up and voila!!

I just presumed with it being fine before the box was taken out it would be fine after, any tips on adjusting the cables?

Hi all, I'm having problems getting my car into 1st gear, basically all my gears were perfect, I took the engine and box out to clean everything up and get the bay looking sweet, also put in a new Valeo clutch whilst it was out, now it's all back in its a nightmare to get in 1st, selecting 2nd then 1st makes it slip in like butter!! Any ideas? Thanks

I had a similar scenario where there payout wouldn't cover a like for like replacement, I kicked off with them and asked them to find a car the same spec for the money otherwise I wanted the extra, I sent them various adverts for like for like cars to prove how much extra it would be to replace. They upped the figure in the end! Took a few months though. HTH
