    Running rich

Plugs look fine, I'd expect more black build up if it was over fuelling?
  2. Burnistoun "quality polis" [video=youtube_share;9h_yoZZJtxQ]http://youtu.be/9h_yoZZJtxQ
  3. Can't be done, digifant 1 has no obd :(
  4. Not me, had a lovely long lie this morning :)
  5. If you need to scan the engine ecu then this method worked for me... 1- Change the baud rate to 4800. 2- Plug the cable in. 3- With the ignition off select the engine module in vcds and start. 4- In the top left it should be trying to connect. (counting down untill next try) 5- As its counting down turn the ignition on and wait..... it should now connect to the ecu
  6. Try and find a place that has laser wheel aliment, should cost around £50 to get it all lined up and will make a world of difference.
  7. I was impressed with the "automatic shoulder belt system" how reliable were they I wonder? FishWick it's a sales video, it's always going to look more impressive than it actually is  At least it's informational, unlike the tripe advertised these days. I was surprised to find the qashqai cant really fly, however not surprised it doesn't have four wheel drive.
  8. BILLCOR Antonios wee brother works in dell, i could get you a dell laptop at cost price? I got mine ex display from tesco, a dell m101z, prob too small for your needs but perfect for running vag-com and chucking in the glove box :) I'd avoid splashing big notes on a brand new one, in 6 months it'll be discontinued and worth about 1/4 what it was new. However, whatever you go for i'd recommend a hands on feel before you buy. Most have the same technology inside nowadays but it's the plastic and screen quality that changes with price. I'd go for a tougher built machine, the dell inspiron 15r is a cheap machine but after a year of opening and closing the plastic around the hinges starts to crack. One to watch out for ;) elliott
  9. :) didn't mean anything by the remark, should have said test pilots I guess :)
  10. Panasonic toughbooks are great for kids but a bit pricey 2nd hand, what about this ipad beater? IBM are a bit rugged also.
  11. Welcome, how many times do you look back at it after you park up and get out? I find myself doing this every time :)
  12. That's a cracker, Full on 80's america complete with brylcreem  ---------- Post added at 09:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:12 PM ---------- selling? I'd make an offer but the corrado has all my attention right now. As long as it goes to the right home, no 1/4 mile fans and the like ;)
  13. Insurance? I hope he told his insurance company about all the gauges and shiny bits he's added, that and the non air bag steering wheel upgrade. :bonk:
  14. I do love the mk1, very rare and without the vw badges a complete mystery to most people. Loving the pictures :) thanks. Interestingly did you know Clarkson had a mk1 scirocco? [video=youtube_share;Dq3zEihXk6c]http://youtu.be/Dq3zEihXk6c
  15. Its all too easy to think after it happens but emptying the washer bottle (if full) down the back of the manifold might have saved it, The little fire extinguishers are ok but as said it's all or nothing. I know of an ex scirocco owner who had a water leak around the front window that ended up dripping into the fuse/relay area causing his much loved car to self ignite. However being a policeman attending a road accident must be one of the worst jobs, i understand now why they stopped me regularly as a teenager and gave me a good old bollocking.
  16. Thanks for taking the time Kip but i'll pass, my car is moonlight blue and the silver would look out of place with the uk plates. I'll keep looking but Chris should take them off your hands? Cheers again elliott
  17. Got it thanks, not sure about the silver tho. Are they german ones? I'm looking for vag style ones if you know what i mean?
  18. Yes please, karmann ones would be even better! I've been looking but all i get is bloody karmann ghias popping up everywhere... pm sent.
  19. I've seen mk1 sciroccos before but a 20v supercharged? Can't be many of them on the go? :) Hardly any mk1 sciroccos full stop come to think of it.
  20. My corrado had no heat shield when i bought it, First thing i did was get one! I'm still missing the flappy material bit tho but i was really surprised how much heat was getting into the cabin. Is the corrado bad for getting hot while stationary? I don't usually get stuck in traffic but i've noticed that when i do the oil can reach 110 sometimes. It really stresses me out....
  21. I've seen a few bare manifolds over the years. You'd be surprised how the new generation think about upgrading their car.
  22. If anyone is thinking about fitting a 4 branch manifold please heat wrap it, this video is a good lesson. [video=youtube_share;5eylwh63Fds] Never liked the mk4 anyway.
  23. It was you, any videos of the mk1 scirocco? It sounds like my cup of tea as they say. :)
  24. sounds like the boats coming in when i first turn it on, it's ok once warmed up.
  25. Looking for Osnabrück surrounds here, anyone know where to get them? Apart from Osnabrück obviously. Have seen a few corrados with the Wolfsburg ones, do your homework people!
