New wheels sound good, as long as they compensate for what could have been a life threatening mistake. I know way too many bad experiences about garages and dealers, I just like to blame myself when it all goes pear shaped :)
-
DIY is the way to go IMO, after that lot i don't think i'd want them to go anywhere near the coolant system!
-
Injected throttle bodies, who's got them and what's to be expected?
-
Apart from meeting some chaps from here i've never seen any since getting mine. It makes it all the more special using it to go to b&q and tesco :) Also the w124 mercs have all vanished around here, so when is a classic recognised as a classic?

Some good info here... http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?41918-samthegrams-2ltr-16v-now-180bhp!!&highlight=poly+bushes

Yeah, I thought as much. Ahh well.

Any way of knowing if the cams have been done already? I ask as i got a car for spares and it's nowhere near as nippy as my own. It picks up well from just under 3k revs right through to 5k but after that it just makes a lot of noise but doesn't pull.

Oak green and atlas grey are the best mk2s but this khaki sure is lovely. Stick to oem suspension, vw spent a load of time and money trying to get it right you know? :)

Sorry, can't recommend anything but avoid the cheap stuff. Expect to pay around the £500 for the good stuff, you get what you pay for usually.

Keep an eye on ebay, I've been looking for a 4 branch and in the last 6 months 4 have been sold.
-
If only it was that easy  ---------- Post added at 01:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:28 PM ---------- CrazyDave remap? Almost got the other 3 items (if the user daniel ever gets round to selling the 4 branch ) but remap, i didn't know the ecu was capable of such wizardry?

I am also on a tidy up mission with the goal of some bhp :) Brakes are number one on my list, those 16v ones are ok but i wouldn't want to stamp on them too hard too often... plenty info here http://wiki.the-corrado.net/16v_tuning_guide.html

This is a great find, i love the scirocco-corrado transformation  This should be a sticky? VW but not corrado related clip,

Very nice car buddy, with that low mileage it looks a keeper for sure :thumbleft:
-
Be very careful, uprated springs or coilovers could totally ruin the car. Too hard or too low and you'll soon start to hate driving it.
-
I'll have two spare once i've swapped mine, are you needing them sooner rather than later? It'll be may/june by the time i'm done.

G60 lump on gumtree, just up the road from me...

It has been done but in a weekend? I dunno? http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?58925-Supercharged-valvers-anyone-done-it-here http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?14919

Haven't had a good look but i always get water coming in the window, i just thought that was part of the corrado character lol. Maybe the drain is blocked?

If your up here or if i'm down there you're welcome to have a go in the 16v, i had a sirocco scala injection many years ago and i loved it! However after a while i got behind the wheel of one again and hated it. You might find it's the memories you love more than the 16v itself? Do the boy racers still go round and round the town and up and down the sands? I'd guess the cost of fuel might have ended that hobby :)

Have sent you pm but pictures don't want to work for me? Here is the pic of the wheel and wings. All the best elliott

I'm sure mine has two fog lights at the rear? Should it only have the one?
-
Thanks, very nice! Got loads of welding to do so i'll see how long the patience lasts but it does look good. Picture saved to corrado folder :)

Was washing the car the other day and noticed the roof trim is breaking up and thought maybe a smooth roof would be nice? The roof has no gutter anyhow and any standing water ends up in the door pocket so i'm not fussed. Only thing is filler would just crack over that distance right? Probably not worth the headache but anyone experienced/done this?

Not trying to prove anything here, the 6 vs 4 cylinder argument has and will go on for a long time. Yes they are the same car but to assume they are just the same to drive would be wrong i think. As for modified vs modified well thats a different bag altogether, it's not about the cars anymore but more about how deep your pockets are. Anyhow, mines a Mango Mojito thanks :)
