I'm bloody backshift but sounds like the start of a good plan...

I'd like to lower mine but i enjoy driving it more than looking at it and with the roads these days i'd hate to think what damage it could do. Keep it simple and keep us posted.

Another scottish corrado owner, congratulations on the new car. I thought about looking at that car also but ended up going for the cheap option lol. ---------- Post added at 06:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:37 PM ---------- What size are the wheels by the way? looks good but could do to be a bit lower. Was this the car with the springs supplied but not fitted?

Poly Bush Full Kit. Is this a good price? Or should I just fit new rubber?
elliott replied to elliott's topic in Drivetrain
I'll never forget the saying "ride in a merc / drive a bmw" I don't know any mercs that inspire the driver, i had a shot of a 190 but they're all just too big and comfy. ---------- Post added at 07:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:42 PM ---------- I'll take some pictures tomorrow and start the story rolling krishen. I've got loads i should be doing so it might be a slow one  -

My brother is a merc man also (hence i have one) but only 50s, 60s and 70s stuff. Infact he has an '86 300d and it's the newest car he's ever had lol. At the moment he's up to his neck in a landrover series 2a 300tdi conversion. Looks like it'll be some machine once its done. My experience with merc peeps is they just kept telling me where i should take it, the only guy i really connected with was Nick Froome but he's a busy guy. -

Will do, I should really be servicing the wifes lupo as its hit the magic 50k mark but I really want to go for a drive in my new corrado lol. Should i start a blog? I've joined a couple of merc forums (it's all about the money with them) as i've got an '88 w124 but i've never had such positive help like the corrado forum. It's great to share the knowledge and i can't thank everyone for helping me so far. I've only had the car a few days! -

Ahh, i didn't. I was just happy i got someone who knew what i was talking about. Thanks for the info, my £500 budget to get the car driving right is dissapearing mighty fast. The joy of corrado ownership... -

Yeah, the plan is to drop the front over a weekend as my car drives like a shopping trolly at the moment. Engine mounts are well past it and so i'd love to get it all tightened up so i can enjoy driving it. -

Thanks joby, i'll phone the robbers and see what they say. I'm taking the whole front frame out so is there any nasties i might encounter? I've only had the car a week and its giving me a headache. Ok, just off the phone. Front wishbone and ARB bushes came to £66.90 and i pick them up on monday. Not too bad in the end. -

My car really needs new bushes all over. I hate doing jobs by half so I'd like to know if this is a good price. I have thought about just getting a whole rubber set from euro or gfs. Thanks Elt

I'd be looking for a set. Just been on ebay.de looking for a corrado beifahrersitz but no joy.

It's well worth the £7.79 plus £3.90 if you need the 2x2 adaptor. I got mine just earlier this week and its been used on three cars with great results. (corrado 2.0 16v, lupo 1.4 16v and polo 1.4 16v) Didn't work straight away, but with some help from swiftkid and some google searches it's saved a lot of headaches.

Newbie with 2.0l 16v, and no dip beam or clocks
elliott replied to tipprado's topic in Newbies Hangout
Its been a while but if my memory is correct the old scirocco and mk1 golfs used the same live feed for the clocks and the light switch. Don't know about the corrado but as it needs the same relay upgrade as the older cars it could be the same. I could be wrong here but it would be a good start. -
Thanks for the info guys, yes its a dumb ebay special and yes i'm using the latest ross tech freebie. Had to change the baud rate to get it working with the wifes lupo but worked 100%. (cleared brake switch and air bag faults) I'll go and try the latency and i'll let you know... Water damage??? ahh jeez, i hope not..... ---------- Post added at 03:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:39 PM ---------- +10 for you swiftkid, sitting in the car after the latency change and its working. However im away to have a beer as this is the test result.... VCDS-Lite Version: Release 1.1 Wednesday, 15 June 2011, 14:58:18. New corrado owner from scotland, 2L 16V (seen better days) HELP?
elliott replied to elliott's topic in Newbies Hangout
A weekday sounds great, i'm also up to my neck in diy, a w124 mercedes estate project and a 14 month old. I work backshift for 2 weeks of the month but getting to see some other daily rados would be great. ---------- Post added at 10:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:08 PM ---------- level and belt checked but a new pump looks like an easy job. The steering rack might be ok as today was the first time i've had the time to get under the car. All the front rubbers and one track rod look like they've had it. Both front tyres are also well worn on the inside. Looks like i'l be making a euro shopping list. -

Good to see the old car again, I used to live next door to his parents and I always thought i'd buy it one day but I ended up getting a house at the time he was selling up for the big city. The car was very well looked after, full zymol treatment every sunday. -
Good to see plenty of new corrado owners from scotland on here.

New corrado owner from scotland, 2L 16V (seen better days) HELP?
elliott replied to elliott's topic in Newbies Hangout
Fat Tony hahaha.... I still speak to his wee brother and I did hear about the charger giving up (I don't think he really gave it the beans) but I always wondered where it went. Was the best G60 i ever saw in its day. P.s. I was the diddy in the blue 2l 8v soft top golf on the rolling road day. -

Hello, i'm very new to corrado ownership but every car i looked at had some kind of upgrade/bodge when it came to the lights. If its done correct you should have a relay or two next to your battery so check them out, if not then pull the light switch out from the dash and check the wires haven't melted or the switch has failed. -
As the title says really. Pluged the cable in but just kept getting this error. The relay was making some loud and clunky clicks, could it really be an easy fix?

I did go to a corrado meet once, my mate had a very low millage G60 and he invited me along to a rolling road day. Don't suppose you know if this car is still out there? -

Hello, yes i've got a long list but all the main bits work and look ok. I'm just outside Kilsyth near Kirkintilloch. My claim to fame is I bought the house Jimmy Krankie was born in! (no joke, it's true) Looks like alot of members here are north of border? Is there a scottish corrado club/meet?
