I also need a new rack so I'd like to know also. Managed to find a scrap corrado with a good column but run out of time trying to get the rack out. Is your steering over assisted? Mine is so light it's scary. ---------- Post added at 05:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:53 PM ---------- On a side note I got q drive track rod ends from euro. They lasted 3 months and the rubber had disintegrated. Get what you pay for I guess?

Looking for the wire the goes from the top of the strut down to the hub. (drivers side) Or can these still be bought from the stealers?
-
It's so over done it's actually rather good , wouldn't want to drive it but. Don't think it would last well with roads over here.

Great to see another happy corrado owner, just got my first one in june and i'm always looking for an excuse to go out and drive. Just had mine (2l 16v) running rough and rich, check the oxygen sensor connection. It's on the engine mount down the back of the left side, mine was green and corroded but a quick clean sorted all the problems.

I thought this was one of those 1:18 kits  http://www.ebay.de/itm/Volkswagen-Corrado-RSR-/220871256749?pt=Automobile&hash=item336cf3eaad

Could make these no problem, in stainless or plastic. Its getting the time thats difficult...

A full set of OEM VAG bushes inc the ARB ones will set you back around £70 from vw. It was the first job i did to my car as i too had the change lane problem every time i hit the pedal. The fitting of the bushes is straight forward, its the getting them off the car that takes the time. Take care as i also snapped a couple of bolts and ended up welding a new nut into the sub frame and replacing all the bolts. I still have the part numbers for bushes and bolts if you need them?

DIY... it never ends... Once you get the laptop sorted any idle problems will be highlighted by vagcom. It's a must have for any vag owner I'd say, only thing is you'll now know about problems you never thought you had... Have fun elliott

Fitted a new wheel sensor today, not very exciting I know but it's the first time i've had the abs light off while driving.
-
Working back shift all week so only got round to looking at it today. After checking every plug, wire, relay and the ecu I just went and bought a new sensor and BINGO! The light is now out  Now before anything else brakes it's time to gently wheel it into the MOT station I think... Thanks for all the help guys, much appreciated.
-
How did it go? Have you got the two to talk to each other?
-
Thanks, I'll check again but it all looks fine at the wheel. The light flickers when turning the ignition on but the error is still there constantly. On another note I unplugged the sensor on the other side to see if it would give me another error but it never did? I'm thinking the ecu might have reached the end of it's life.

MOT time is here and i still cant get the dam ABS to play ball. Vag-com says my front right wheel sensor is faulty but it's a new one that's on and when i clear the codes the light still stays on? Would i be right to think the light should go off and not come back on again untill i'm moving and apply the brakes? I've cleaned the abs ecu connections and checked the relays after getting an outlet valve fault however this wheel sensor is being a pain in the tits!!! I'm going to get a new sensor just to see if the new one is iffy but is there a way to test it? How many ohms should i be getting from a good or bad one??? Thanks again....

Looking good... Spotted your car on gumtree today, if i didn't already have one i'd snap it up...

Welcome, if your looking for a nice reliable cheap sports coupe then the corrado is not it... However if your handy with the spanners and you've got the time and money I'd highly recommend it, I've went the 2L route however the sound of a vr6 is very addictive.

I know nothing about hid lights but if your fuses are all OK then check for relays around the battery. Most corrados have got some kind of wire upgrade and you might find your problem with the upgrade if not done right. You should have a separate relay for each side so as you have nothing it could be a dodgy wire going to the battery? As were talking hid I'm not sure but you might at least have side lights?

Invest in a magnetic sump Plug, any high millage car will have a little shrapnel lying in the sump but you don't want it getting picked up.
-
Cheers again, it was just a corroded connector on the lambda connector after all. I do have other sensors that seem to be bodged and bunged up, they are behind the air box. Don't want to hijack this thread so I'm listing my problems and fixes over here

Scottish Meet - Calling all Scot's!!

Er.. any one... I've voted but who knows what could happen tomorrow never mind next month. Not that it should matter but the clocks change on the 30th so might be a bugger for the early shift workers. -
Yeah it all works so if it ain't broke I'll just put it all back. The S4 would be my first choice for an estate, you get all the practicality of a big car but with the ability to drive it like a sports car Unfortunately I'm not brave enough to own one hence the old diesel estate for the practicality and the corrado for the fun factor The big question but... is it faster than the vr ???...

It's purring as it should thanks, just the knock sensor to replace and I've got a couple off a scrap car to try. Only thing i need to find out now is why these ones have been bodged? Any ideas? Oh and i see an S4 on your list...

OK last night I spent 10 minutes looking into my idle/sensor problems and would you believe a can of wd40 and a little wire brush is all it took... This is the oxygen sensor connector
