try using 4th and 5th gears when on the motorway - brings the revs down a bit and will save fuel :wink: but seriously, my valver was only giving me 26-28ish on a long run and that was when it was f'ked (which has cost me lots of cash - but is now nearly a complete new engoine)... my fuel consumption boiled down to the timing being about 4 teeth out.

Have heard various opinions of dent master repairers... apparently these repairs look ok for a month or 2 (long enough if you're trying to sell it) but after that the paint tends to deteriorate and rust can come back! I've not used them myself so am not speaking from experience but if this is true then it would seem that the only effective way to do it is to do it properly through a body shop... Good luck getting it sorted

Spotted @ MCM in Millford this morning: N6 VVW blackberry VR on nice Oettinger 5 spokes with tints and lupo wipers - def a forum member (that probably won't spot this post :lol: )... car looked sweet - hope you get the engine sorted - your head looked interesting :oops: BTW mine is the Pearl Grey valver thats down there

Will deffo be interested in having one of these... and like Jim has already offered I too am happy to help with layout/graphic design/photoshop work. Also I'm a professional photographer available for shoots if anyone wants one arranged for this or even just for their own private use 8)

I think this is one of those common to all VW problems! My mk1 golf, my mates Pissrat and it also does this on my C too. The later stalk is quite positive and clicks into the various positions well... don't know what the early ones are like though.

They're still reflective but the font is not the right one for the UK... I'd have thought that it'd only be PC Promotion that'd bother to pick you up for 'em though :wink:

Think I'll be giving John a call tomorrow too... just got a quote today of £1000 for limited milage (8000m) fully comp with £250 XS :shock: OK, so my history doesn't go as far as 4 years NCB and I have a small matter of a ban hanging over my head from 3 years ago (fully reformed now!) but surely I'm getting stiched up now - it's only a 2.0 valver ffs!!! This is the problem with the C being in such a high insurace group... :oops:

The wing mirrors look OK - only cos they're as they should be!!! Makes me sad that money can be spent on such bad taste - they could have kept it as a nice standard C and payed for my engine :)

Having now spent some time being driven about in Daves I can say that they are great cars... and have a lot of potential - often overlooked by the dub scene! And just to echo Dave he got a very good spec with leather and lots of engine work for £700 so yeah I'd say £500 is too much, would they take an offer of £350/£400?

FK do white/red and smoke/red M3 style and Inpro only do the white/red IIRC I've got smoke/red FK's (see avitar) on mine - they fit fine and suit my colour... would have thought that they would look fine on Blackberry too! As far as fitting goes I think it's fairly random as I have seen both Inpro and FK fit well and badly... when you fit them you have some up and down play before you tighten them up so it shouldn't be hard to get them to line up 8)
