Nogrille... I'm with Atlas Insurance Services in Guildford and they have always given me a good quote (which is good as I have a slightly colourful driving history  ) They were a bit slow sending my certificate and had to send three cover notes before it arrived! Other than that I've had no problems with them and they came in a lot cheeper (£500+) than anyone else I tried... don't know their number off hand but can dig it out for ya' if you're interested 8)

it's a shame the fronts can't be done - with only the rears tinted it looks like a half finished job and is a bit poo imo! Agreed on chromelux though deffo more class than black chav tints 8)

yeah sound like the middle of the 3 bulbs has gone... easy to replace just a bit of a pain! mine went some time ago and I had to use a lower wattage bulb so center is still a bit dimmer than the rest - kinda looks cool though :)
-
Getting mine back would be a good start and then I have new number plates, wheels, stereo and lights to fit 8) Edit: also have Passat rear handles and mechs to fit and maybe get some colour coding done...

to be brutally honest I really don't like them - sorry!

aren't the polished ones off a mk3 cab or anniversary?

Try Danny @ MCM his number is 01483 424815... he's normally very busy so it's gen best to call first thing or late in the day (he's norm there till 6) He was recomended to me by another C owner that works for GSF. They're based in Millford just up the A3 past Guildford - bit of a trek but def worth it as they really do know what they're doing... (it's also right next door to Millford train station so you can get home after you drop your car off)

Last winter after losing the back end on a country road in my C a gritter had to swerve to avoid me! I swear he turned the grit on as he passed to get me back :?: With all due disrespect to my company limo I like to give it a good covering when ever I get the chance I pity the person who buys this off the company when the time comes (mind you it'll only be worth a tenner)

 good luck with your mision! The more I read on this thread the more I can't wait to see the finished article 8) -
mine is 2nd from top notch... of course it all depends what height you are and what suits you! I think early models didn't have H/A S/C's and it ws introduced onm the late C's although I know people with early late models (but late enough to have the late dash) with out H/A - it's all a fairly random affair with these cars 8) Edit: Obviously some early models did have H/A steering so that makes everything even more randon - bless the C for all it's quirkyness

how thick are you spraying it mate? Really fine layers and alowing to dry between coats worked for me...

VR power curve looks v. wrong.. (NOW WITH DYNO PLOT) :(
Phil K replied to HiAsAKite's topic in Engine Bay
Little over harsh there I feel, this is a public forum and everyone is entitled to their opinions but there is no need to get at or slate other forum users. Also, are fly wheel differences on a RR more to do with what is being calculated as transmission loss? Therefore you may find some RRs are a bit optimistic and some a little low - could it not be that the cars you know of have all been led to believe optimistic readings? For example a calculation of 25% transmission loss would mean 100bhp at the wheels and would be 125bhp at the fly.. so make that 35% loss and you get 135bhp ATF... which implies that the only real way of getting fly wheel figures is to bench test it. -
nogrille, hello mate! so, you're planning to get a C then? take it you won't want the BBS rims off mine then

This guy sounds like a f'kin nighmare... name and shame him on all the forums to a) lose him future business and b) to stop him killing someone with his dodgy work

Audi A6 I think.. one of my the best looking C's ever imo 8)

Colour coded headlight surrounds...
-
kevhaywire would be your man for this one... might be worth having a look in his gallery. What colour is your C? I think it looks good when the headlight surrounds and grill are colour coded too 8)
-
have heard that there can be problems with running 100w bulbs as they get hotter than the standard ones causing the chrome plating inside the headlight bowl to blister and come off...

road angel 2 looks a bit fisher price to me... still not out the running though if it will be easier transfer between cars

Have been thinking about getting one of these for some time and have narrowed it down to 2 options Snooper S6R or Origin B2 Has anyone on here had any experience of these units? I want to be able to have them in both of my cars as the C will only really get driven at the w/e... Will hard wire it into the C eventualy but for now I want to be able to interchange with out having to put up with lots of trailing wires 8)

I'd keep it tbh... good VR's are getting harder and harder to find and with your low milage and spec it will be V hard to replace... Someone on here did the conversion on an auto storm a while back ('storm' on here I think) I think the conversion is more time consuming than hard to do. ka-ching
