  1. ROFL  When you gonna come and do mine marcus?
  2. No sparks mate... looked at the cap and leads and they didn't look like they had any moisure but will give that a try anyway - will be calling in at The Phirm this evening to see if they can help... I hope it's not the ECU :(
  3. Looks much better with the black badge! VW badges seem to have problems keeping the chrome finish - I replced mine for another chrome one though as I think it looks better on Grey than a black one would... What are you planning for your next ground breaking mod ;)
  4. Not happy :( I last used the C to go to No Rice on Wednesday night and it drove there and back fine with no problems... The return journey was in really heavy rain and I was aquaplaning (sp?) through puddles! I started it last night to jump start another car and it was fine but after I had successfully got the other car running the engine started to die - I revved it hard and it cleared but as soon as I took the power off it went rough and sounded like it was only firing on 2 or 3 cylinders and finally stalled! So, I went out and had a look at it earlier and noticed the middle 2 HT leads weren't pushed down fully on the plugs (only by about 1mm) so I pushed them on better and gave the inside of the distributor cap a wipe out with a cloth - although there was no moisture in there... It then started fine and seemed to be ruining ok until I got it out of the space and out to the road where it started doing exactly what it was doing last night... after it stalled and I started it again it seemed fine until I put it in gear and then it went lumpy and started miss firing again... The recovery guy has just left and after starting it and giving it a rev he recons it's fuel related (well done - you must be a pro  ) I'm now stuck with a non drivable C and will have to get them out on monday/tuesday to get it towed over the The Phirm and let them have a good look at it... Does anyone have any suggestions to what could be the cause? I wonder if it has anything to do with the amount of water I had to drive through on Wednesday but can't understand why it would have been fine all the way home and only have this problem now :?
  5. Yes but only in the lens and surrounds... the main headlight is the same. Late glass and surrounds sit further out than the early ones... HTH
  6. It died on me last night as I parked it in my space - it had only been run long enough to jump start another car.... /\ It's things like that make me want to sell it... I'm now worried about trying to find the fault later today :(
  7. There's something I really like about it tbh 8)
  8. Yeah would like to see it now! i hope it doesn't look as bad as it sounds :?
  9. Smoked ham with french mustard on toast is probably my favorite ;)

  11. My Navman is pretty good although it doesn't do a full postcode search - i.e. GU4 7 and then you have to choose the name of the road from the given list... not too much of a problem nd 9 times in 10 it has the road you're looking for. Sometimes you have to do a manual search on the map screen to find the road or close to the road and a few times I've hd to resort to looking the road up on Autoroute and then entering a road thats close the road I'm looking for. I would recomend one and for the money they are a worth while investment - especaily if you're doing a lot of miles to places you don't know too well! There is no monthly charge to use Navman and you cn download camera locations too for free! Since changing jobs I've got a new company car and the boss has paid for me to have a built in Kenwood nav system (with DVD) which is sooo good and does do a full post code search. Today was the first time it hasn't recognised the postcode and I've had to do a road name search - so basicly if you have £1500 to spend then yeah it's better than a Navman :D
  12. billinjah, no just blind fella  I could have sworn that it didn't have those auto belts yesterday when I looked at those pics

    Hi I'm New

Hi and welcome - good luck with your search 8)
  14. Not sure about connections as I've seen some with normal VAG ones and some with out... There will be relays in the loom somewhere so I guess that is another spanner in the works! Loads of people have the uprated looms on here and should be able to help you with this - I haven't bothered as have fairly good lights as it is!
  15. You look how I felt on the Sunday  Had a good look at your car at E38 - I love them in this colour! You can just about make me out in the far right of your last pic :D
  16. Fairly obvious once the wheel is off IMO... Can't say I've done it on the C but if it's anything like my mk1 then it's very straight forward! One other thought - do you have an uprated loom? That could also be causing problems...
  17. My guess would be the stalk tbh... remove the streering wheel and remove it for a good clean. I'd use some compressed air to blow the dust out and clean all the contacts and then re-fit to see if it's any better... If you do need to replace it I beleive they are the same as Mk3 Golf ones but the wiring is slighlty shorter - although I don't remember if that causes a pronblem or not! Am sure someone else on here can clear that up though ;) Hope that helps...
  18. Did it have the euro belt conversion before you got it or was that an option in the US? Does look bloody lovely though! I'd put some euro headlights on it too if it were mine 8)
  19. Where'd you go? Will prob see you tomorrow night mate 8)
  20. Kept that quiet 8) Damn another month and another copy I have to buy! Well done mate :D
