1. Not a fan of the Golfs then Larceny? Must admit I'm tempted to try one. :)
2. A shame, only got to use DG once, was planning to continue using them. I found Graham to be one of the best garages I've ever used (not been to stealth yet). Hate taking my car to the local place, they just want it in and out, not interested in cars where you need to find parts. I can understand moving on if the moneys no good and your not enjoying it. It looks as though thats whats happened, at least in the short term. Edit: his facebook page appears to be gone as well? I'm sure he used to upload photo's of the cars he had in at one stage
3. I have one of these as well, very good
4. Just out of interest Wayne, what car groups have you found unhelpful? I must admit, this group is great, but I don't have any experience of any others (not that I want to either to be honest)
5. I remember when Gatecrasher got burnt down in Sheffield, used to go there a lot. Welcome to the forum
6. Cheers Dougie, Indeed I am, what page is that on by the way? I must have missed it. Thanks very much for the info.
7. Just to come back to this one: Managed to get the bumper off, supported the cross member, so it should be okay to get back on. Does anyone know what the torque settings are for all the bolts in the bumper bracket? (or most importantly the four main bumper bolts) I can't seem to find the info in the Bentley service manual. Is it me or is this info missing from it? Cheers
8. I found this guide with a picture of it, on a canadian car: http://www.corrado-club.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9393&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=&sid=b6e5e10e51bc24a36878232ae0c3396b
9. I think mines knackered also, I just get a "--" on the MFA. The fogs do work though. I'll have to see about replacing it.
10. Very Clear, Cheers both for the input. I'll have another crack it it, I'll be collecting the missing yellow outer bolt shortly. Ian
11. Cool, I thought they didn't have much of a thread to go into as it is. The problem is one of the yellow circled bolts is missing, so I'll be getting that replaced before I go any further.
12. Cheers Sean, I'll be persistent and give it a wiggle :thumbleft:
13. Well, the good news is, the bolts are still available and they cost me 98p each from VW. The problem is they won't go in. The one on the left side seems to have no thread, and the one on the right seems to only go in a little, but I can't get it all the way in. (fnarr fnarr) I guess the cross member isn't aligned up properly, or the thread is knackered. Anyone got any experience of this? all the other bolts are seated properly. Guess I'll dismantle it and have a look.
14. Don't forget the Redex! :thumbleft: Which seemed to give them an extra 7 HP, from memory? lol
15. aye, not a bad idea, I have no idea how long those bolts have been missing for. Hopefully still available, when I pop to the dealers
16. Cheers Toad, Recon I'll wait, don;t want the beam moving, just to be on the safe side.
17. Hi all, I was hoping to finish taking the front bumper and the rest of the front end off the car today, but it looks as though the following blue circled bolts are missing: Apparently these holds the front cross-member in place when the car is in the service position? I've supported the engine with a jack, but is it still a daft idea to remove the bumper without these in place? I will of course replace them asap, but if they need to be there I won't be able to continue with the job until next weekend (typical inst it  ) Cheers
18. Must admit I do like Nissan 300ZX Turbo's. Don't remember ever seeing one.
19. oh dear : / Not been there since last year, so not sure. Hope he's okay
20. Hi all, Nice little offer on at Halfords for some great looking ratchet spanners, with a little tool box to keep them in (and other things) Could have done with these last week! oh well, a good deal if anyone needs any: http://www.halfords.com/motoring/garage-equipment/tool-chests-tool-boxes/halfords-advanced-professional-9-piece-ratchet-spanner-set-and-stanley-12-5-tool-box-bundle
21. I know the spot, and could picture it as you described it, but have no idea what they are :S
22. Cheers for the help guys, looks like there not far off going then, I'll have to have more of a poke around, finding suspension problems can be tough! lol
23. This weekend I thought I'd crack on with swapping the fans and cowling, which I've had for ages. Got the chin spoiler off and all the lights etc, after finding a decent guide I'm going to crack on with taking the bumper off (after reading as many threads an books as possible). I'm planning on changing the coolant, as the cars not in use at the moment, so I had a quick look inside the coolant pipe just at the top of the radiator and found the following: RUST!!! The coolant is desperately in need of changing, Looking around at a few threads, this seems this may have come from block. Really hope this isn't a sign of bigger rust problems with the block. I'll get this flushed out and changed and keep an eye on it. I've also found that the one of the bolts that holds the front cross member in place is missing on my car! (the middle smaller bolt that goes in between the two bumper bolts)
24. must admit, I've had a pair of these in my parts bin for months, would be great to see where the spacer goes, as I want to get mine fitted.
