Got my VR6 fronts yesterday, top man :)
-
The check they did was probably just to make sure it didn't put any other lights on when selected (like with bad earths etc). Not part of the test for it to light up as far as I know, other than it shouldn't be on when reverse is not selected, then it would fail for white light (as per indicators etc failing for white light showing from rear lights) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks all, sorted for both bits :)

Cheers mate. I think I am sorted now with a full set of grey cloth cards, which means I can get things back to the later spec. If anyone does have late spec grey leather front cards, do give me a shout though.

For me it a combination of things. I wanted a project car, to tuck up in the garage and tinker with over the winter, and enjoy driving around in the summer. My last three cars have been Lexus, a '96 mk1 GS300 Sport, a '99 Mk2 GS300 Sport, and the current daily driver is a '01 mk2 GS430 Sport. Cheap cars to buy and the 430 is very, very quick for a big exec saloon. I didn't want a project that I would find slow and boring when it did venture out the garage, so I needed a good priced, fast car. I've always liked the Corrado and it was a kinda "eurika" moment whilst weighing up purchase cost and tinkering costs. Going back to a proper vintage car takes bottomless pockets which I don't have. The VR6 Corrado ticked all the boxes, relatively old and retro, and just looks the part, squat and moody. The more I take it out the garage and drive it, the more it is growing on me. I'm having to learn a different driving style, Lexus is a 300 BHP rear wheel drive, the Corrado 190 BHP front wheel drive. Definately loving the corrado handling, and starting to get to grips with having to rev the corrado a lot higher to get the performance compared the lazy ease a 4.3 litre V8 delivers the power.

The main problem I have is that the car was converted to leather before I got it. So it has early spec leather cards fitted already. It means I have the window switches where they are meant to be on a late spec (on the top edge of the pockets) and also have window switches in the door as well (but not connected up). It looks kinda dumb with two sets of switches. Plus, the mirror switch isn't wired up either (not that it bothers me too much). Some late spec cards, ideally in leather would be perfect, but cloth would also be fine as I could possible get them re-trimmed in leather at a later date, but would do fine in cloth for the time being. Mind you, what I'm not sure about is whether the car was originally a black interior or not. The dash, centre console etc are black, would they be grey if it had been grey originally?

Hi, I'm after a couple of bits if anyone has them. VR6 Radiator cover, the one that screws onto slam panel and hides the top of the radiator. Part number "535 121 343 C". Flap airduct, part number "535 805 965" I think. It is the piece that screws to the slam panel and slots into another plastic panel that screws in behind the headlamp. It helps direct air down towards the airbox funnel. I think it is the same on all the corrado models, but not entirely sure. Cheers all.

I would also consider cloth cards, either black or grey. but would need all four cards.

It would suggest it is seized. Although the front calipers don't need "winding back" so to speak, the should just push straight in. Only the rears need "winding", as part of the hand brake mechanism in the caliper. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Saw a red rado (poss VR6) on Winchester road, Basingstoke about 12:10 on Sunday. I was in my Lexus turning into Lister Road by B&Q as it drove passed me heading out of town. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Payment sent mate. I'll pm delivery address. Cheers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I went into Audi Basinsgtoke today regarding this, the prices quoted were £44.21 + VAT for the arms each, and £15.35 + VAT eat for the blades, total £142.97. That seems a tad steep compared what I've read on the thread so far. Anyone else getting different prices from different dealers?

I guess the mirrors are always getting knocked off, as the cammo job would mean no one would see it parked in the kerb. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Good stuff. What would be the likely turn around time if the shifter is sent? Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Do you have any pictures of the door cards? And is it all four? Cheers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can you do just the fronts for a '94 VR6 with clear cover?
-
What about if the original shifter can be sent to you to be be modified, rather than expecting a modified one to be sent before returning the original?

No mate, it is polished and shiny, the pic came out smaller than I intended though so might be hard to see

This is the one I have just bought to fit on mine. I plan to paint in between each branch.

Ditto, all my bits arrived safe and sound also. Very easy to deal with .

In that case, I can only assume someone didn't want to pay to replace a knackered sensor.
