  1. 24 mm my mk2 golf ,corrado and mk3 all been the same Rob
  2. its only a trim piece the screen is bonded in use a bit of clear mastic to hold it in place that piece is £25 from VAG new Rob
  3. A3's less than Golf's not around here they ain't , if i had to choose between 1.8t golf or A3 1.8t then at would be close but add the A3 1.8 180 bhp quattro into the mix and it's game over ,my choice of run about was between golf se or A3 se, A3 has a lot more kit as standard little things like window control off the remote is standard ,full climate , auto dim rear view mirror ( this may sound like something you dont need but it works great ) but the main thing for me with the se spec was the golf don't come in 3 door se , very happy with my car ,one thing i would add if i could do it cheaply would be a DIS or MFA as we know it ,this comes standard on the sport models pic of mine , changed the wheels and added 20v badges front and rear Get the facelift if you can rear and front lights look so much better Rob

  5. just checked the mk2 golf manual and it should be 15 amps corrado's are 90 spec golfs when it comes to fuse boxes so try a 15 amp Rob
  6. don't have my manual to hand someones got a lend of it but from memory its about 15 -16 in number and would also only have a low rating maybe 15 amps fuse diagram is on the top of the panel you remove to get at the fuse box Rob

  17. you may be able to get a spare battery and a set of jump leads , to open the car by conecting the earth from the spare battery to the body of the car and the live to the live conection on the starter motor you should be able to get at that from below do this one first then the earth one if it sparks when you conect the earth then the live is touching earth as well just be very carefull poping the bonnet from out side is not easy you could try hooking the cable between the slats in the grille and pulling may work then jump the battery as normal rob
  18. These any good for you viewtopic.php?f=13&t=66231 Rob
  19. the lever pushes down on a lever on top of the lock when you remove the handle look in the hole to see if you can see two levers on the top of the door lock the closest one to the outside opens the door the other one moves the button in the door card up and down , one of these may be bent out of line or broken off Rob
  20. heated switch is on the dash has a thumb wheel to change temp and the heating pad in the seat has a thermo cut out so as long as its all working ok no fire :D must be very cold over there what temp are we talking about ? i work for a forklift company (Linde) and we fit battery heaters and oil sump and fuel tank heaters for cold places so if you needed brake heaters chances are these may have been offered also ? Rob
  21. i'm a 43 year old car nut and i've never heard of heated brakes ?checks date no not april the first , waits to be corrected ,but if they were offered it would have been in very very cold countrys , if cold brakes are a problem there must be easier ways than heating them jets are easy fit most heated seats are leather in this country but have seen cloth recaro's heated in golfs Rob
