the flywheel has been lightned. so all i have is l l it must be the first line. if the wheel spins anti clock wise tdc would be first then the 6' mark. i only need to sure. so i can put tipex on the tooth belt. that way i can set up the timimg correctly. any one got a spare fly wheel kicking about in the garage to check it.

i'v got the cylinder head off. so i can see it. but its only 6' , the piston bearly moves.

i need to make new markings on the pullies so i can set up my timimg. i have a few problems. i 'm running tooth belts which dont have the markings on. so if i can get the fly wheel to tdc i can put a bit of tip ex on it. but on the fly wheel there are 2 mark one tdc and one 6'. which one is tdc. taking the wheel as turning anti clock wise. is it the first or second mark. any help. ta

gsf do the orignal oe gasket. which is metal. i think the gasket on its own is only £35. bolts are £1 each. plus exhaust gaskets and stuff. thay also do the kits for i think about £80. not bad. it took me only 1hour and 20 mins to get the head off.. easy. just so long as the exhaust bolts come off.

you cant get more detailed than that link. what made you want to check the valve springs.....?????

you need a 'toffee' wheel. most body shops will have them. no idea what they look like but they take the sticky foam backing off without damaging the paint work. which is easy if you use the wrong chemicals. also if your looking at filling the roof gutter- which i have done. dont just fill it. it will crack and look pooh. you need to weld a plate across then fill in the slight gap. roof lining out etc.

i think early ones had elecky window as an option. i think even the sunroof was an option. untill they realised it cost to much not to inc the sunshine

so i'm changing over to a slim line fan which is single speed 2 wire. but the oe fan is 3 wire 2 speed. so do i link the two feeds together or just use one of the wires.? bit stumped. cos if i use one wire.if the thermostat switches over from slow to high it would cut the power to the slim line fan. then over heat.. or if i use the high wire it wont kick in till the temps very high.? any ideas

yes i do. i forked out on one. and back in the days when jabba sport were good. i took it up there for a custom road map. and it splutered at high revs. we removed it for a std one and it was fine. they don't keep a constant pressure. i sold it, then another friend had the same effects. don't waste your money.

oh. just seen your on a vr. erm, not sure what the air box looks like. thought it was a g60 box. dime- bar...
-
remove the tubing first thou. it takes 5 mins and releases supprising amounts of the induction noise.. plus it takes air from behind the headlamp. cant get much colder than that.. and its free.
-
so putting the slim line fan in, 2 wires one speed.. whats the best way to wire up from original. 3 wires 2 speed. do i wire up the 2 outs from the original to the new inputs.. ?
-
its 2 bolts and the tube thread and the slave cylinder will come off. cheap and easy.
-
DO NOT DRILL STD AIR BOXES there is no gain and you will find it difficult to sell it again. if you want more growl. keep the air box and remove the tube from with in. these stop reverbrations in the air. hence no roar. oh and panel filters are all same all ish, k&n are of couse the most exspensive. but look at jetex or jr panels.

have brake ducts have been removed.? you could always go to the brakers and pick up a 'new' one. and tie it up somewhere.

it is attached to the drivers side brake cooling duct. little blue thing. 2 wires. unclips.. but there no point in moving it really.
