  2. he is based in cornwall. the auction was for 5 days. the other kits went for 500-800. i was well suprised this only went for 310. i have asked for photos of the actual kit.

    ERM.. yes the difference betwine a 68 to a 65 pulley is hugh, it IS worth doing., # lets face it. your g60 engine is GOING to get serviced before it gets to it @recommended@ service anyway. so just chuck on a 65mm pully and enjoy. i've used one for 3 years and any havent had any supercharger probs yet!!
  6. well yes i suppose. but.. if it i works... its a fact the g60 unit is too small for a vr6 well lets say i've got a vortex super charger DESIGNED for a 4.6 mustang to produce 10 psi. on a 8 pot. what should that produce on a 1.8 4 pot. hopefully 20psi.??? any thoughts.

    wheel power varies from car to car. engine power.prob 200 210. put the 65 on. 215 220 std cam? if so get a piper 270h. not the 285. keeps the power low down. its excellent.
  8. would it work.? i've been looking at some. now i know the vr6 superchargers only run 10psi ish. would the pressure back up and produce more like 15psi on the 4 pot engines.???

    it is noticeable. i would think about 15 to 20 bhp. try it. just check the fueling. not normally a prob. most g60's run rich anyway.

  11. oh i see. then you may need adaptors for the rear. and proper 5 stud convert for the front. i have some 20mm 4 to 5 stud adaptors. in steel.if you want to try them..? oh actually i've just seen your in romania.... not really close to surrey then.
  12. where do you get the brake pads for the ibitza cupra r brembo 4 pots from. ? and is it worth getting different ones from oe.?
  13. i wouldn't redrill the hubs.. the threads will be too close on one and will over lap on another. it wont line up.
  14. i only redrilled the front discs. not the hubs. remember that the 4x100 to 5x100. you'll have 1 hole llined up, then 2 fresh holes, and 2 close ones. theres plenty of metal to go round.
  15. that is perfect. . is it just a case of replacing those bits.? also you say that bolt/ tensioner is faulty. how can you tell.? thankyou every one for this infomation.
  16. i had to re drill my 305 brembos to 5 stud. but i 'am getting the 312mm tt discs soon and hope i can line them up to the 4 pots
  17. nope. just the hub - spinning bit which bolts to the wheel. and a vr cv joint. and new bearing. i did a step by step on here with pictures
  18. ok. excellent. how do you check the tensioner. sorry guys. i know nothing when is comes to more than 4 pots. you mention the big nut. is that the big one on the back.? and whats behind it. pics and help very much obliged.
  19. erm sorry guys but i converted my g60 to 5 stud all round with no problems. i did use some adaptor but they are shitt, REARS. 5 stud discs and new bearings. FRONTS. get some 5 stud hubs, and vr6 cv joints. you will need some new front bearings. easy. but you will need to get 5 stud brake discs or redrill 4 stud ones. REMEMBER 5 stud cars use 14mm wheel bolts. not 12mm. so get some bolts before you start. do a search on here and there should be a step by step guild with pics.
  20. ok. my friend has a golf vr6 on r reg. 53k and it had delveloped a rattling noise when accerlating, very noticable between idle and 1500rpm. we've been told its the timimg chain tensioner. but is this right at only 53k miles with full vw service history .? and does any one have any pic of the work being carried out. don't really want to spend £800 to fix if we can do it in the garage. any help thanks ian.

    fit a toothed belt system and feel the difference! ;) :lol: yeah... in your wallet. :lol: only joking. they arent all bad.

    well i dont like them . the belts can snap super easy. cos you cant use the spring tensioner. you have to you fixed ones. they are noisy. and dont give you ANY performance benifits. oh and cost a lot of money. . ask around who uses them.
