-

air /fuel gauge? how do you connect one without a lambda pro
g60bv replied to waynos's topic in Engine Bay
i use a single wire. and it works ok. has to heat up first. i couldnt be bothered running more wires to heat it . -

yeah pretty much. get a second probe boss welded in and use that. -
it is WELL boring. i insure my car for 3k miles a year. and i've only done 8k since owning it 8 years. so to put the number of miles on was hard work. i've done 1600 now and its been mapped but it still feels like it is driving with 4 people in the back. cheesed off with it. if you can buy a built engine, save the agro.
-
correct. i have already commented that he would be better off getting your engine. i have just had mine rebuilt with 83mm pistons and a cnc head. but i'm having difficulties putting the milage on. thats one thing people dont relise. you need to spend 500 quid on fuel just to run it in after spending £3k on the engine. then the remap. if i could go back in time, i would have bought yours or simular.. building one your self is great and can be hands one. but is no way cheaper. .
-
tsr do one. it uses a 82mm ( i think, could even be a 81.5mm!) piston and a longer crank ( pos a diesel) . they had one at inters on there stand to take away on the day at 1500.
-
welcome to the forum lee. get some pics on here and we'll be able to help out quicker. does the car have abs.? if not a 22mm mc -should- be the one. from euro car parts under £40
-
cant you just brown bread the flooring area. :?
-
why not just buy the engine above and sell your head. that engine is a proven beast. it makes perfect sense. dont loose sight of your ultimate goal. its easy to try to get things cheap but isn't so in the long run. i know.
-
ive just had the same thing done to mine. still running it in. my piston did the same . a small slice fell out between the rings. odd ah. did you get the crank rebalanced.might be worth it..
-
is your timimg light a good one.? could the senor for it be getting a source of number2.? sounds silly. sorry.

i have yet to fit mine. mike has fitted it and have been told by others it is perfect. i just need to find time to fit mine, have a read through this, viewtopic.php?f=23&t=53602&st=0&sk=t&sd=a i did spend a whole week phoning every breakers in the country to find a ctn box, and the one i got was covered in shite and no confirm mileage. .. but i did get a breakers in dover which had one. with confirmed 80k on it but wanted 270 + 50 postage. ... plus VAT. so it worked out expensive.. i got my one for 200 delivered. but i have no idea how many miles on it. :?

before you and buy all the bit you require to do the vr6 gear swap. do look at the gear ratio on the diesel ctn box. its a straight swap, smooth, cheap, and excellent gears. 1st good for 35 2nd 65 3rd 95 4th 130 5th 170. so long as you have the power. someone correct me if thats wrong.
-
proof that all renualt are crap magnets. and if all that crap is wired up. a fire waitin to happen.
-
surley a second hand box would be yor best bet.? should be loads around.
-
not for this engine. but have for old one, some where. i'll check.
-
the torque is good. and some redtops and a piper 270h willl make it all much better. look into these before going down the expensive route of a 2 l. i have had a simular speck befor and it made excellent grunt figures. 225hp 230 ftlbs which would make more use of that box. second hand 270 is under a ton.
-
usually a bit of heat is enough.
-
just looking at your graph against your mods, seems very low powered. 65mm pulley. and only 200hp. i would look at the fueling graph. :? also that drop may be the isv dumping excessive boost. either throu overboosting. -due to 65mm pulley or the knock sensor. all g60 graphs i have seen have a small drop in that area but a dip, not a drop. .. just a thought. i have a ctn box in the garage, unknown milage. just waiting to find time to fit it.
-
try here. it on a g60. may be the same for you cars. viewtopic.php?p=657169#657169

well after living with noisy tooth belts. i'm thinking of going back to ribed belts. so i dug out my old belt stuff. and noticed the bushes were worn so looked around to see what to do. and found this to work. bit of 3/4" hose. cut down then the inserts pressed in using a vice. pretty soild.

ok got a second hand console unit and it all works. excellent stuff. except now my car shows 97000 miles not 47. what a bugger. is there any way to get my old milage back. i've looked at the unit and there no memory chip of such. where the milage memory kept.?
