I got destroyed by one about six months ago on the A1. I thought I was doing ok....then he realised we were racing and buggered off. * EDIT* I just remembered that Tiff Needel reates them very highly too, which is good enough for me.

That's good thinking! Nothing worse than a resprayed car with the engine bay in the original colour.

I found removing the passenger side shelf and glove compartment (20 minutes max.) makes the cable routing much easier.

The Atom segment is currently available at this link for all those interested - it's 62MB and runs for 9m 21s. It'll probably be there for several days. ** Edit ** The resolution is 512 x 282 and the quality is very good in case you were wondering....

Cheers mate, I appreciate your kind words. In fact I appreciate everyone's kind words. To be honest the car's done me proud for the last 12 months and I should probably be nicer to it. The problem is it's hard to view it as anything other than a 14 year old banger that's next to worthless because basically that's what it is! However, I love it to bits and as bangers go it's got to be at the "classier" end of the scale!

All the Top Gear car vs. bike races are staged. Did anyone see the Yamaha R1 vs. Porsche Carrera race on one of Clarksons videos? What a load of old toss that was! How many here in the Atom camp actually have a full bike licence and have owned a modern sportsbike? NSR125s certainly don't count! :roll:

Can the Atom lift its front wheels at 100mph? Doubt it! To be honest I'd love one for the track if money was no object but generally, if I'm going to get cold in/on a vehicle I'd like to be able to make progress in traffic. In a jam that Atom's as fast as the Morris Minor it's sitting behind. Anyway it's rice-powered FFS.

What type of GTi is it exactly? Mk.1, 2, 3....8v, 16v....? I have an absolute shed load of Mk.2 8v spares - about three cars worth if you need anything...probably for free.
