  1. Would that be the 12.1 second Renault owned by that Mike guy from around the Essex area?
  2. I'm surprised nobody has done an 'indicator in mirror - Mercedes-Benz style' mod yet. Could this be the first Corrado to sport such a mod? Or has it been done and I just haven't seen it?
  3. You're right...now 0-140 is a different matter! 12.12 seconds on an R1.....according to Fast Bikes mag. Or how about 60-120 in under five seconds. Cars (with a few exceptions!) aren't for going fast - they're for putting the shopping in.
  4. I'll be interested in that at sale time!
  5. I could have sworn there's another thread almost identical to this one....
  6. I think you've answered your own question. You've stuck with the auto for this long so you may as well keep sticking with it until you can make it the car you REALLY want it to be.
  7. Is there an aftermarket immobiliser fitted that may have packed in? There can't be many links between fuel AND ignition.
  8. A TDi Audi TT.....I'd buy one of those!
  9. It's just to get the attention of the person the post is directed at. I believe it's a fairly standard forum style. If you drive a G60, as I believe you do, then won't the distributor be the same as an 8V GTi, i.e driven from an intermediate shaft rather than the cam as on the 16v?....or am I talking crap?!
  10. .....but your speedo probably read 237mph.... Sorry, hard to resist after that extensive thread from before.
  11. I can remember a news story about a Paediatrician getting her house trashed some years ago when Paedophiles were the flavour of the week. The world is full of dumb-arses.
  12. I got mine for two reasons: 1) I needed new plates and the German style ones were actually cheaper than GB plates would have been from 'round here, and 2) I liked the look of them on DazzyVR6's car - just something subtle and a bit different. One thing I don't 'get' is the fitting of aftermarket parts that make the car look better but drive like a sack of spanners. I found 17s on my Corrado improved the looks no end but made the car feel awful on the road. My car, like many others, is a daily driver - function over form.
  13. I'll have a fiver on the normally aspirated diesel.
  14. I would be inclined to say: admit to nothing, leave it to the insurance companies to sort out based on the driver's statements and expect 50:50 blame. Bit of a pisser though. Hope you get it sorted a.s.a.p.
  15. Did the forum rules change? I've never seen masked swearing frowned on before! Good luck in your quest for boost by the way. Not a change of rules, but if we have a swear filter (for obvious reasons) then why the need to intentionally circumvent it ? Fair point.

  17. They could just stick "most at risk" beside every car ever made and wouldn't be far wrong. Wow...*every* 901cc - 1050cc Yamaha motorcycle manufactured between 1986 and 1997 has a meduim risk of getting stolen. Shocker....NOT. I have to conclude that the website in question is utterly daft.
  18. I'd take it as a warning. I'm pretty sure if they had you on video you'd have been stopped and given the opportunity to watch the offending footage. He may have been just about to nick you when news of a *real* crime came on his radio and he felt the need to attend. Lucky man I'd say!
  19. I always use the word "character" when I'm selling an old nail to someone. Give me that lovely 1.8T motor anyday.
  20. The Leon Cupra R is in insurance group 17. My bet is that it would be pretty damn high to insure also. Awesome car though.
