Damn, I thought you were selling the Corrado. I was gonna make you an offer :)
-
So he's a fan of black then?

Looks like a good time to upgrade to Audi door handles to me....subject to being in a position to pay for it of course.
-
It's not bad if you get it fixed now. It will be if you leave it.

Last time I attempted to remove a VW glovebox I ended up with a fairly hefty cut to the hand and a tasty scar. I avoid contact with them now!

I think the easiest method is to wire it up from the front as normal, then remove the passenger side dash undertray so you can guide the cables neatly as you push the stereo into the dash.

I'm not keen on the 18'' look I have to say. The ride quality is definitely going to suck when lowered on 18s; there's no getting away from that!

I'd say she's hiding something. Is there no way you can see the will? I'm not up to speed with the legal matters.

Who was it that was in his mate's M3 when it got written off? I remember the picture of a very knackered M3 in a workshop.

You had the quickest car? The Mk2 16v should have had the edge in a straight line.

You've been a busy boy. Nice work.

Should I buy this engine? 9a Bubble block 2.0 litre 185 bhp.

That IS a good point, unless it's running on the 1.8 16v K-Jetronic injection instead of 9A's KE-Motronic. -

Agreed, if you could guarantee that it makes 185bhp then a grand is ok. The question is, can you? In addition, for a grand I'd expect some bleedin' spark plugs to be included! -

£1850 sounds like a lot from looking at that list; I can't see that much moneys worth of parts, unless he's including buying the head. It looks like a completely standard bottom end with some head work and different cams. Considering you can buy a 1.8T engine for a grand, it sounds over-priced to me. That's just my opinion though. I may well have missed something. -
Ouch. Well, my money would have to be on the cap...although I use the £10 GSF caps and have never had a problem.

It really only has to match the current requirements of the car electrical system...or the part of the system you want to measure. What I mean is, you won't need a 60A gauge unless you've got a fairly hefty sound system in the car. The 30A scale should be plenty for a more-or-less standard car.

Did you buy a cheap cap and set of leads?

what are your perfect wheels for a 'Rado and why? Disc

I'm a huge fan of Compomotive MOs. -
The red plastic thing is an anti-tamper bung that prevents you from getting to the mixture screw on the air-flap arm in the airbox. You shouldn't have to adjust this as it's just a course base setting; the ECU trims the mixture via a differential pressure regulator on the right-hand side of the metering head (under that cover). However, if you do need to adjust it, turning it clockwise enriches the mixture by changing the height of the plunger in the metering-head.

I'd love to see him beat Alonso now and again. -
Wrote of my G60 last night. 2nd offer from insurance -page 3
bcstudent replied to 2_Door_fun's topic in General Car Chat
That's why I'm covered TPF&T only. I can't see the point in paying a penny more for cover I'll never use due to the hilarity of the valuations. Nobbers. -
load sensing brake bias valve? edit: how do i reset it?
bcstudent replied to leigha's topic in Drivetrain
No, there's just the one on the near-side. -
Here's an exploded diagram of what you're up against, highlighting the O-ring seal. The strainer is almost guaranteed to be spotless. * EDIT * I see you already have access to the parts database...lol

It's very unlikely you'll need a new fuel pump, so long as it's pumping. Leaks from there are pretty common and my Corrado was the same when I got it. The pump is retained by a plastic collar held on with three course-threaded screws. If you remove the collar you'll find a big green O-ring seal in there. My bet is if you clean the surfaces and replace the seal you'll fix the problem. Be careful when refitting the plastic collar as the screws screw straight into the plastic housing. If that's a pic of your fuel pump assembly above (although I suspect it's not from the wording in your post) then it'll be a piece of cake to do; literally a five minute job. It's a bit more of a bugger on the car for obvious reasons and it'll be a good idea to clamp as many fuel pipes as you can before you disconnect everything. When I did the job on mine I broke some of the fittings because they were just solid rust. I was unable to get good replacement pipes quickly, so I went to Pirtek and they made some flexible pipes with the correct fittings while I waited...for a tenner all in. Bargain. Three years on and I've had no problems since. Change the fuel filter while you're down there!

The 16v engines are fairly hard work though. The 1.8 is especially gutless for a daily driver. In general, I'd say Mk2 8v Golfs were better cars for the daily grind. The Corrado looks much cooler though, no doubt. I reckon an 8v Corrado sounds like a perfect daily driver.
