Surely you mean '1337 photoshop skillz0r', no?

Keep those weapons holstered boys...

The fuel filter is worth changing too if a different fuel pump sounds the same as the old one.

So let me get this straight... Your north American spec. headlights are poor, so you buy some better ones and then reduce the light output by tinting the lens. Is that right? -
I own a 1.8 16v but I'd recommend the 2.0 16v for day-to-day ease of driving. The 2.0 is, I believe, shorter geared so you possibly need to use 3rd for 60mph. That may explain the 0-60 time difference. On paper the 1.8 may be quicker, but the 2.0 feels quicker on the road.

I used to have no problem with women drivers then, last year, one knocked me off my DR-Z400 and ran me over. I now have a problem with that particular one. The rest are ok...for now.

Yeah, I'd say a call to the local plod is in order.

I can only assume your injectors weren't quite as knackered as mine then!

Great post! This sort of thing could well save others lots of grief in the future. Oh, and to your dad, well spotted that man.

I could sort of understand it if you were parked on the pavement, forcing pedestrians to walk in the road...but you weren't!

Although it will start without it, my car has always sounded healthier on start-up with a dab of throttle. That's pre and post-injector change.

best bet is an ultrasonic cleaning bath, around 30 quid or so off e-bay, that'll shift stuff that no amount of carb cleaner will get off, supposed to do the job on injectors (search Club GTI forum) I'm going to give one of these a try, apparently really good for cleaning all sorts of small and delicate metal items. The problem with mechanical injectors is that there's a pin that rattles around on a seat, which eventually causes wear to both. No amount of injector cleaning is going to fix that.
-
Crikey...that's pretty high! Glad you finally got it sorted.
-
If it's anything like my experience of new injectors, the difference will be like night and day.

There may not be any snot. A block test will tell you if the gasket has failed between a cylinder and the coolant. The car can pass the block test and still have a gasket that's allowing oil and coolant to mix.

Helios Blue is a lot darker than that. I don't what colour that is but I don't like it! * EDIT * Apparently, that's Star Blue. Helios Blue:

Blimey, it must have been! Do you have the printout from the emissions test? I'd be interested to know the readings.

Is the car pre-'92?
-
It's likely to be the classic air intake seal in the scuttle panel on the passenger side. My car used to do the exact same thing when I first got it. 10 minutes and some silicon sealer later and it's been fine for three years.

Am I the only one that doesn't really like 301s that much? I mean, they're ok but nothing to get excited about...IMO.

Which engine are we talking about?

Does anyone remember that Lancia Y10 project someone was doing with the Integrale engune and running gear?

Nice work man. What camera and lenses are you using? "jbobscorrado15.jpg" has "forum banner" written all over it.
