  1. It's a 2.0 as mentioned in the first post. Can you confirm that the things listed above are definitely not the problem before you ask for more ideas?
  2. I avoid all these problems by owning a car I rarely actually use. On the rare occasion that I do use the car, it doesn't matter a toss if it gets smacked by a door or three because I won't notice! Old bangers rule.
  3. I happens a lot in a 16v. You get used to it :)
  4. I've got four as well...but I'll be moving house that weekend so probably won't make it. Again, free to a good home if anyone wants them. I'd really like to go just for the F1 car demo.
  5. Get your oscilloscope on there and then you can tell us!
  6. Yeah, I'd definitely be exhausting all other avenues before I took the manifold off. It'll only take you half an hour though if it comes to it.
  7. One of mine kept falling off but it came out with a piece of bent wire. They're larger than the injector insert so there's not really any chance of them ending up in the engine. I think there's supposed to be a small gap at the end of the injector. According to the Bosch book the end cap is supposed to aid fuel atomisation by drawing turbulent air through the end cap.
  8. I think he needs new exhaust rubbers.
  9. That's Riley's car. You'll find a big discussion about it if you use the search.
  10. 4.3mpg?! I'd be looking for a hole in the fuel tank chap.
  11. Sound like a really nice example of a Corrado you have there. Overtaking parked cars doesn't count though, just so you know :)
  12. You mean a block tester? They're used to determine if there are exhaust gasses in the coolant. Oil in water generally shows up as white snot on the oil filler cap.
  13. Nope, I've slept on it....and I still like 'em all.
  14. Well it's got Estorils on it so that pretty much guarantees it to be four-stud, and I just assumed they were on a 2.0 16v being the standard wheel and all. All the Passat's covered by that manual have 256mm front brakes, the same as all 1.8 and 2.0 16v Corrados. It covers the ABS system too, which I assume is the same as the late 16v Corrado system. It's very unlikely you'll need a new cold-start injector gasket, by the way. * EDIT * There aren't that many pages on the braking system. At a push I could probably scan them for you.
  15. If the 16v in your avatar is yours then you'll be wanting the Haynes Passat manual (1988-1991 with a purple cover). Since there's no specific Haynes maual for the Corrado it's the closest you'll get to the 2.0 16v and even covers the 9A engine.
  16. My 16v has been run on 95 for the three years I've owned it with no problems.
  17. Believe me, there's nothing 'Great' about Yarmouth anymore!
  18. The ride quality is easily as good as it was with the standard shocks. I'd say it's a lot better than you'd expect for a £250 kit. Bear in mind I went for the -30/0 kit (I think), that uses the standard rear springs, as I wanted to lower it as little as possible. As for the red thing...I really can't remember for sure.
  19. I've got a feeling the little red bit locates in the end of the spring...but I can't be sure. It's a few months since I fitted my Weitec kit and the memory has faded a little. I can remember it being pretty obvious when the old stuff came off though. You're risking pain if you try it without spring compressors. It'll be a bugger to assemble the new shock without them too.
  20. You'd need one for a LHD Corrado anyway I expect!
