  1. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be though...
  2. £400? You think I'd get that much for it? :) Mine really ONLY gets used in the winter.
  3. Crikey, that's going to be a bit rapid.
  4. Nice car. I like the way you got the word 'uber' in twice too. Skills :)
  5. Like my mate would say..."Oh yeah? 'Course you can" :)
  6. There's one thing the G60 and VR6 can't match though...the running costs of the 16v.
  7. Oh my God. Shocking display of stupidity.
  8. There's a member of this forum who works for an automotive research company, I believe he's calling himself 'Numpty Dumpty' these days. Surely a company like that could extract that information from somewhere. No?
  9. You'll change your tune once winter sets in. Not so I'm afraid. The winter just makes it worse because the traffic moves even slower. I don't go far enough for using the bike to be a problem.
  10. Not a great pic, but it should tell you all you need to know...
  11. Nah, not keen, cars suck. Having just spent the summer on a bike I can't say I'm a fan of sitting in traffic. My car takes me to work and back. That's pretty much it.
  12. Make sure the fan thermoswitch connector hasn't come adrift and is touching an earth too. That happened on my 16v.
  13. I'd ignore it for now and make a point of sorting the clocks out so you can calculate it for definite. It's been said though, 30-35mpg is good!
  14. I think track days may be the best starting point. Goodwood, Thruxton and Castle Coombe are the closest to Devon...but not *that* close. http://www.trackdays.co.uk/
  15. I have no idea what 'button part' you're on about either. Can you take a photo of the offending piece?
  16. It's the vacuum connection to the part of the clocks that works out the economy. The more you open the throttle, the more vacuum is created, and it just uses a look-up table to determine the fuel usage at certain vacuum levels. It's pretty basic and not to be believed with less than a pinch of salt. However, that said...if the pipe is leaking vacuum then it'll over-read rather than under-read, i.e. if the pipe falls off you'll see 99.9 mpg because it's seeing no fuel usage over any distance.
  17. Not wishing to sound patronising, but you're sure it's the resistor? What are the symptoms?
  18. I've been looking for a reliable bodyshop in Norwich for 10 years. Let me know if you find one!
  19. You'd kind of expect a garage to perform a fuel pressure test before they go ahead and change the fuel pump really...wouldn't you?! I certainly would.
  20. I agree. I can barely tolerate 32mpg considering the performance available; I think 24mpg would prompt an advert in the Autotrader!
  21. I get about 30-32mpg combined with about 50/50 town and B-road driving. My MFA isn't that far out usually but I wouldn't believe it if it was telling me I was getting 22mpg out of town! Clearly, there's no way to prove it either way without a working odometer.
  22. Well, if you can get off the line then you're clearly on a winner. I suspect that it's going to be very close but I'd have to give the edge to the Subaru purely due to traction.

    engine mounts

If you have to ask the question I'd seriously consider giving the job to a garage to do. If you're changing them all, it's much much easier if you've got a way to jack the engine up and down. A garage should be able to change all three in an hour. Even I managed to do the job in that time with a hydraulic lift at my disposal.
