  1. ...and 4WD as an option. Is that a first for a BMW coupe?
  2. I'm not a big fan of the MOT, don't get me wrong, but they're really pushing their luck passing stuff like that.
  3. Wouldn't a quick continuity test answer that for you?
  4. Well it would appear to be a left-hand drive car.
  5. I like the idea of getting rid of the cable speedo drive. It makes removing the clocks way more of a pain!
  6. Spooky. I know a guy that's owned two Calibra Turbos and has his surname tattooed down his forearm. Not the action of a normal person! I owned an Astra GTE 16v in 1995 and in a race with a Corrado VR6 on the A11 there was almost nothing in it. Yes, I'd agree, the Calibra Turbo will have the edge at speeds over 120mph. How much time are you going to be spending there? Not a lot. My tired old Corrado 16v left my mate's 240bhp Calibra Turbo trailing on a spirited trip down a country road - a much more common driving scenario around here. 4x4 certainly doesn't make them handle any better!
  7. Cream leather in a silver car...hmmmm, not sure about that!
  8. That'll be the speedo drive then?
  9. Never pleasant to read about stuff like this, but I'm glad you're still with us. Hope it all works out chap.
  10. I think I'd be looking at a Lupo TDI with that budget. Cheap to run, minimal devaluation and pretty funky-looking.
  11. Whatever it was, I bet it felt lighter on its feet after that!

    Battery drain

Here, you need one of them Joe cell batteries. I've heard that'll never go dead bcstudent I know them well; they arrive on a golden Parcel Force carriage drawn by two white unicorns.
  13. Like my last manager used to say (far too often): 'don't bring me problems, bring me solutions' :)

    Battery drain

I finally found what was draining my battery in four days. However, the immobiliser still seems to draw enough on its own to kill the battery in about three weeks. I can live with that.
  15. Damn straight, I'm not accepting anything less than a fully funded trip to California to witness a floating car in action. Yeah! Roads? Where we're going we don't need roads...
  16. We've been seeing what you're getting at since the start, but we're still gonna need to see some evidence real soon :)
  17. I'm sure Clarence Zener will forgive your typo, even if I won't :)
  18. I appologise if my posts have come across as a bit harsh; that wasn't the desired outcome, although I have to stand by the point I was trying to make. I'm sitting here wondering several things: 1) This Joe Cell idea has been around for almost 200 years and nobody has made any provable progress with it? You, yourself, claim to have made some advancement with it but offer no proof. People would take the thread more seriously I'm sure, and maybe offer some answers to your questions, if they didn't see it as a wind up. 2) It would appear to me that you're intending to run your Corrado on a revolutionary fuel and fully expect the standard ECU map to pretty much just cope with it. I'm assuming with a remap you can run whatever ignition advance you like, or is that train of though a bit too 'conventional'? 3) You mention being the first to achieve the mounting of an AMG supercharger in your last project. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't that get scrapped before it ever ran? It's nice to have ideas but in order to be taken seriously you're going to have so see some stuff through to the end!
  19. It amazes me that someone who claims such engineering greatness can have so many problems with his own car, with even simple things like thermostats. I'm not entirely sure what the purpose of this thread is, but it seems to me that you're just trying to make everyone think 'wow, this guy's a genius'. If you're getting this kind of reaction here I can't beging to imagine what the reception would be like over on VWVortex! I'm fully prepared to eat my words but I really can't see it happening :)
  20. If you could run a Corrado on bullsh*t this thread would be good for several miles I'm sure.
  21. AHU is 90bhp but the 110bhp will have a different engine code. Possible 110bhp TDI engines: AFN 1996-1999 AHF 1997-? ASV 2000-? AVG 1999-2000
  22. I'd be racking my brains to remember the registration number of her car before reporting her for leaving the scene of an accident! It sounds to me like you could get the parts to repair the car second hand for a couple of hundred quid, providing the chassis is still straight.
  23. You saved £1400?! Jeeesus.
