  1. You want more accurate than 30.09mph? You're a tough customer!
  2. Haha, nice work. I swear that's going to get right on your nerves after a while! Wouldn't it have taken less than 24 hours to go to Maplin and buy four LEDs though?!
  3. Blimey, those are some serious pieces of work. Would it be rude to ask how much such an item would cost?
  4. Ouch indeed. Your other thread makes a lot more sense now :)
  5. If you've got the 16v gearbox then you should probably use that, the same goes for the loom really even though the 16v wiring is really quite simple. Bear in mind you'll need to use the higher-pressure 16v fuel pump if you're using the K-Jet injection. It may be possible to run the 16v engine using the Digi I loom, without too much grief, but I'm not sure if you'd need a Digi II airflow meter and throttle body for that. Another forum member is attempting to run a 2.0 16v on Digi II injection from a Mk2 8v GTI. I'll have a look for that thread as you should take a look at some of the VWVortex links in it. * EDIT * http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=41834
  6. Lupo wiper arms are great, in theory, expect to have your wallet significantly lightened if you choose that path via a dealer though!
  7. It may be an idea to chance the thread title to read 'thermostat', instead of 'thermstat', so the search function has a better chance of finding this information again for others with the same problem. Just a thought!
  8. Yeah, the link's been posted on here before. Last time it was because the track was totally covered in snow. * EDIT * I'm seeing mostly rental-type cars at the moment. I wonder why that is :)
  9. This may make more sense if everyone knew what you were trying to do!
  10. Oh, ok. Hands up who's got an original G60 with a mechanical odometer clock-set.
  11. Gold may not be 'wrong' exactly, but all those cars could look better (in my opinion) with a different colour choice.
  12. I don't think the 2.0 16v rev counter is scaled to 8k RPM. I think that's only found on the 1.8 16v.
  13. Nice write-up and congratulations on finding the fault eventually!
  14. All G60s had the digital odometer. A '91 'H' should have the earlier of the two G60 clock internals. That makes it easier for you. I'd like to get a set of each clock type because I really can't see this being a big deal.
  15. I prefer to think of it as a Freudian slip...because it's funnier that way :)
  16. Don't suppose you know what colour wire feeds back from the ECU to the fusebox then up to the rev counter on a 9A, as I have ditched the ECU and cut back the wires. I have kept one black wire (as My Clifford was spliced into it), that has a connection for the (TCI unit I think) that sits on the coil and there is a green wire and a brown wire that went to the ECU. Don't really want to lose my rev counter and any help would be appreciated as all the wiring diagrams I have downloaded from http://www.msk.volkswagen.ru seem to concentrate on the VR6. Thanks and apologies for going slighlty off topic. I've had a look in the Haynes Passat manual and it's a bit hard to follow. The brown appears to be a live and the green is the rev counter signal cable.
  17. That's not a very nice thing to call him!
  18. Yeah, but you've driven it loads of times and NOT crashed. The odds are in your favour chap. Enjoy.
  19. Not. Going. To. Happen. Nice idea though :)
  20. Either you're not explaining yourself very well or you're saying the by-product of burning hydrogen is...hydrogen?
  21. They do nothing for me at all. Am I in the minority?!
  22. I have to say, I still feel that my 1990 Mk2 GTI had more sure-footed handling than my Corrado.
  23. I thought piston/valve contact wasn't possible on the G60...at least with a standard compression ratio.
