  1. Hahaha. I like the one on the Supra. That engine must be doing 5000rpm before it can produce the exhaust gas volume to get any boost out of that monster turbo.
  2. Are you saying that an internally stock 16v with a turbo will put 426hp to the wheels? I'd have to question that! No chap, we're all about the imperial over here too.
  3. I would have expected the S2000 to get a good few car lengths on you; it's impressive that your Corrado performed so well. I'll be interested to see the 1/4 mile times because I think you'll struggle to match the 14.3 of the S2000! That's pretty damn quick.

    fan wiring

The series resistance for the low-speed fan setting appears to be part of the original fan motor. I'd suggest using the red/white live as it's switched by the lower of the two temperature switches at 95 degrees; it's also linked to the fuel pump/radiator fan 'after run' control unit. The red/black live is switched at 102 degrees.
  5. A guy I know paid £1300 for a tidy Corrado G60 last year. It's registered on a K-plate and had done about 150k at the time. It'd had a lot of work done just before he bought it, like new suspension. When we went out for a drive it was clear that the supercharger was rather tired. He ignored the advice to get it serviced a.s.a.p. and three months later had to fork out a grand for a new one after it detonated. All of a sudden his bargain wasn't quite such a bargain after all. He's still got it though.
  6. Well, if he was offered a good price by the dealer then fair play. It's true that he did try long and hard to sell the car on here last year. To be quite honest, the only part worth saving was the interior.
  7. I quite like that. I can see no problem with retrimming your seats however you want.
  8. If I was looking to buy another car it probably would be a Mk2 8v. However, I only do about 4k miles a year in the car I've got so it wouldn't be a lot of use to me right now!
  9. That's what happened to me too! Spooky.
  10. Don't worry about it. Glad you got it sorted either way.
  11. I'd say it'd be fairly close on account of the Mercedes' weight. I'd give him the edge though. Did you get that Golf working?
  12. In my opinion, those are not the actions of an enthusiast.
  13. I was under the impression that the 2.8 and 2.9 engines produce 174PS and 190PS (DIN horsepower), or 171.6bhp and 187.4bhp (SAE horsepower), resepectively.
  14. I'm thinking the Mk1 would lose against a Mk5 GTI though!
  15. Lockwood white dials...'bout £30 new I think.
  16. Leave it as it is. My own Corrado's a piece of shite; why should yours be any different? :) Seriously though, treat it as the cheap hack that it's turning into.
  17. Highs: It's the coolest looking £500 car on the road. Lows: It's about as quick as a modern sporty diesel (or not as quick in some cases) and does 32mpg.
  18. I'm pretty sure they all had the designer's badge. I'm also confident that they all look bleedin' identical apart from the engine badging. Sure it was a turbo? :)
  19. Didn't they do a 16v Fiat turbo as well? I expect a G60 would come out a lot better in a race with one of those over the 20v.
  20. The closest manual to the 1.8 16v Corrado is the Haynes manual for the Mk2 Golf. However, the Golf uses a cable clutch and a rod-change gearbox so it won't help you much with that particular job!
  21. Yeah, it's a standard procedure for a dodgy thermostat in the summer. It just means water will circulate through the radiator from the off so the car will warm up slightly slower. You won't really notice it on a warm day but it'll mean no heater for longer in the winter!
  22. That's the same as my friend's 2.0 16v as well. After my 1.8 16v that runs at 90 degrees water and 100 degrees oil I was rather alarmed when I borrowed it.
  23. Like Crasher says...it's the yellow/red wire. If you still need a picture I'll try and sort one out. Someone may beat me to it though (hopefully :))
  24. The 1.8 and 2.0 sensor arrangements are different aren't they?! Which one do you want specifically?
