  1. Hmmm, chances of finding one of those in my local breaker's yard?! :)
  2. Nice wheel choice. I think they really suit the car.
  3. My 1.8 16v doesn't have any retaining clips, and my friend's 2.0 16v only has one! I guess they're not *that* important but you may as well use them if you have them.
  4. After looking at the damage I'd have to be leaning towards breaking it for spares.
  5. I see pics...and I'm liking what I'm seeing! Good looking car you have there fella.
  6. I'd love to...but there aren't any pictures :)
  7. Well, my 16v used to seem a bit high at the front only. The 35/0 kit lowers the front by 35mm but allows you to retain the standard springs, and ride height, at the rear. The rear spring platform is adjustable to four different heights though if you want to fine tune it a bit. It was the perfect kit for me as I needed new suspension but wanted to lower the car as little as possible. There's still a bit of body roll, as you'd expect, but I wouldn't want it to be any lower or harder. The fact that the kit uses the standard rear springs makes it cheaper too. Always a bonus.
  8. Only 4.6psi of boost?! Seems like a lot of money and effort for such a small amount. I didn't see the power listed anywhere but I'm guessing it's not slow :) * EDIT * 371hp at the wheels. Ok...maybe it IS worth it! I'm almost as jealous about his camera gear as his car...
  9. I got my arse handed to me by a ratty white Nova on the way to Peterborough once. It looked like a right piece of crap, so I thought I'd school him, but lordy it did shift! That wiped the smile off my face good and proper.
  10. I also have a Weitec kit (35mm/0mm) from G-Werks and I'm more than happy with the ride; in fact I'd say it's more compliant than it was with standard suspension.
  11. My Corrado has cost me bugger all to buy and run and never let me down in two and a half years of ownership. It's a shame your experience hasn't been similar.
  12. That may well be true...but this is a 16v running problem!
  13. The Lambda probe works in open-loop mode when the car is cold so if you've got running problems on a cold start it won't be that. For cold-running fuel enrichment the temperature sender signal is used by the ECU I believe. It makes sense that the car runs fine for a few seconds as that's about as long as the cold-start injector will be operating.
  14. Give Pirteka look; they've got hose for every occasion. They recently got me out of trouble with a replacement fuel pipe (with fittings) for a fiver.
  15. Gibber's car got waaaaaay more of a slating than that and he's still here. He made more of an effort to counter the haters in his gallery thread though, rather than cop a snot and disappear.

    Fuel gauge

I don't think the gauge would react that quickly if the sender was dodgy. I'd be looking more at the gauge damping.
  17. Yeah, the electric window switches do suck. I'll agree on that point :)
  18. It would mean that the coolant is being flowed through the radiator from start-up, rather than being diverted through the engine only. The thermostat should initially be closed, which allows the engine to reach proper operating temperature quickly before it opens to prevent overheating.
  19. To be honest, I don't think I'd mention a KR cam to an insurance company. The chances of it ever being a problem in the event of an accident are so small I just couldn't be arsed with the grief of mentioning it. Obviously, in your case, it was worthwhile letting them know as you're covered, if the worst happens, for free.
  20. Yes I can. The rotary controls may be easy to fix but I'd rather not have to bother!
  21. I disagree. I prefer the earlier shape apart from the grille; that's all I've changed. The later rotary heater controls are less reliable than the earlier slide ones too.
  22. Wow, farmers around here are the least likely out of anyone to help a load of trail riders! I've been chased by a few in Land Rovers and Shoguns; that's never fun.
  23. The 2.0 16v is easier to live with day-to-day, due to the flatter torque curve and the shorter gears, but I love the fact that I don't have to worry about the strict emissions test during the MOT with my 1.8 16v. Basically, I'm plenty happy enough with my 1.8.
