Still talking to myself apparently, but here goes... After a look in my Passat Haynes manual is appears that there isn't an overrun cut-off valve on the KE-Motronic system like there is on the K-Jet system. This would lead me to believe that the differential pressure valve handles overrun cut-off completely...but what controls the differential pressure valve?! The K-Jet cars have a controller behind the centre console that deals with the idle valve and overrun cut-off. Do the KE-Motronic cars have the same type of thing? Does anyone have one for sale? HELP.

£500 should buy you something really nice if you're looking at mint condition but used wheels/tyres.

So there wasn't any compression? I'm a freakin' genius I tell thee. Shame I can't diagnose my own damn problems!

Digifant 2 on 2.0l 16v - I did it!!!! (2 year old thread)

It makes me laugh when I see that the Americans on Vortex were doing it at least three years ago and nobody here's really bothered. -
Oversteer in the wet - characteristic or damping?
bcstudent replied to G60 Bob's topic in Drivetrain
The only time it's happened to me was with good fronts and cheap crap rear tyres also. Had it spun I'd have piled into a police car (un-manned thankfully) on the opposite side of the road. Brown trousers. -
I'll probably host the clip soon just because it makes me laugh.

I'd be fibbing if I said I wouldn't hit that.

No, me either to be honest. I don't know why really since almost everything you need is in the Golf and you don't even need to get underneath and change the fuel pump to run the higher K-Jet pressure. It's a bloody brilliant idea I think. It'd be nice to take the Corrado off the road completely for a bit and just get it done, but I can't as it's my only car. The only thing making it difficult to lash the Digi II onto my engine are the fuel pipes from what I can tell. Everything else can just be unplugged/plugged back in as required. Time to start gathering information... -

People say that about the K-Jet throttle response, but I don't entirely agree. I'll tell you what, you do the 16v engine in a Digi II car and I'll do the Digi II into a 16v car :) -
Did anyone happen to see the episode of Fifth Gear on TV just now? LMFAO

I think I'm going to spend tomorrow digging stuff out of my shed to see what I can recover. I fear that a large part of my Digi II loom has been used as a donor for other projects. I reckon I can lash something together to see if I can get it running on Digi II before I totally rip out the K-Jet. It's a bit of a gamble as it's running very well right now. -

I know nothing. It was purely a question I needed answering! I'm in two minds myself now. I hate the K-Jet that's on my Corrado, even though it's running really well these days. I have a shed full of Digi II bits from multiple broken Mk2 GTIs. It's very tempting. -

Do you happen to know the difference between Digi I and Digi II by the way?! -

lol...that'll work too. I really can't stand KE-Motronic. Digi has GOT to be the best solution in this case. -
Nope, but I bought a set of Hankook K104s after reading the test results on mytyres and I'm well happy with them.

Someone that'll insure it I'd guess :)

I believe G-Werks stock a fuel rail for K-Jet conversions. It should be a very straight-forward conversion if you already have the Digi loom in place. A remapped Digi ECU is going to be able to fuel way more accurately than any archaic mechanical injection system. No worries about running lean at the top end either. ok this is actually driving me f***ing insane now!!!!!!!!!!

I've had faulty thermostats from new in the past too. I'd definitely try the car with no thermostat as a next step. -
The 2.0 16v has shorter gearing, which makes a hell of a lot off difference to the drivability. Given the choice I'd rather drive the 2.0 16v day-to-day but the 1.8 16v is a lot easier to fault find on and KE-Motronic sucks.

My Corrado Project.... Here goes i'm on the ladder
bcstudent replied to mtc R32's topic in Members Gallery
Might want to sort that link out 16vradge! This does the same thing. -
Well that sounds promising! It's not that simple, since only the 1.8 16v came with an 8k RPM rev counter (I think); I've never seen a KR-engine'd Corrado with the later clocks.

K-Jet is pretty cack too, just a little less cack than KE-Motronic. I'd certainly welcome the opportunity to bin mine. -
No, you'll need the electronic part of the 8k RPM rev counter to generate the correct needle deflection for a given engine speed. The question is: is the rev counter a complete unit or is the electronic part integrated on a shared clock PCB?! I suspect the former, I have to say.
