  1. It's true that when unleaded petrol appeared it was recommended that KR engined VWs stuck to the leaded equivalent, be it LRP or whatever. Some people had K-Star type devices fitted to remap the ignition and some didn't bother and just stuck unleaded in. I was one of the latter and never noticed a change in performance or anything else. So, for me at least, using unleaded in an unmodified KR engine seems to work just fine.
  2. Nice steering wheel :)
  3. I had a race with a 306 Rallye late at night from Kings Lynn to Norwich last year some time. I was in a 180bhp Leon Cupra and, although he couldn't pull away, I couldn't make up any ground on the 306 in a straight line. I was pretty impressed.
  4. Seriously off topc now....but I meant that the car just gets in the way during the summer months. With the bike around there's just no reason to use it.
  5. Not my postcode. I've already got one Corrado cluttering up the drive; I certainly won't be driving to the GU area to steal another one!
  6. Click me, I'm shorter yet I still go to the same place
  7. It's a VFR400. The rider involved had only passed his test a week or so previouly I believe. Incidentally, road RC30s made around 112bhp and weighed 185kg; they were not capable of anywhere near 180mph.
  8. What are the symptoms of a dodgy air flow meter? I remember the mentioning of cars feeling flat with respect to power delivery but is there anything else, such as spluttering?
  9. I'm a fan of the Draper Expert stuff, which also comes with a lifetime warranty including ratchet mechs.

I'd say the ignition timing is a good place to start. Does the car run ok or does it feel a bit flat?
  11. It's got to be cheap-ish to run and have a bit of style. Performance in a car means little to me - I bought the bike to go fast. As much as the idea of a 600bhp Supra appeals, I'd rather have a cheap car, a fast bike and some money in the bank. Now all I need to complete this plan is the money in the bank.
  12. I PM'd the guy several days ago and he hasn't replied - it says he's read the message. What other solid front mount options are there as I'm not being messed about?
  13. How did you go about getting tickets?
  14. It's not a fake, but it is somewhat staged. The two vehicles are the genuine result of a collision and they're now used, with the permission of the victim's families, for a speed reduction/safe driving campaign by the govenment of the country it happened in. I believe it was Sweden but don't quote me on that.
  15. I think you've missed the point. The point being that there are a whole heck of a lot of £200 Civics out there pretending to be something they're not. It's true that the Japanese make good cars, unfortunately anyone can buy them - including the morons. As for most Jap cars being RWD, I beg to differ. Some are for sure, but definitely not most.
  16. It's about time we issued the traffic Police with these.

That's like saying it's ok to throw stones at people as long as none of them hit anyone. It's an act of vandalism pure and simple.
  18. My 2005 Yamaha R1 has cost me a few quid in the last month - a new pair of tyres and an un-needed stone through the radiator yesterday equate to more than I've spent on the Corrado in the last year. Worth every penny though.
  19. So you're back on the original number plate now?
  20. I'd go and buy a cheap multimeter before I made any assumptions what-so-ever!
  21. For what it would cost in labour to straighten that wing you'd likely be better off finding a straight second-hand one. I guess it could have been a lot worse.
  22. My 15 year old snotter went straight through the MOT a couple of days ago too. I put it in a month early as I haven't even given it a look over. I think this is the first time I've ever had 13 months MOT on a car.
