  1. I would tend to agree with some of the previous comments. If the S2000 is anything like the Civic Type-R, and I suspect that it is, then it's far from unbearable around town. Sure, the town isn't the natural hunting ground for such a beast but I wouldn't describe it as unbearable. As for big bikes being unbearable in the same situation....huh? I can't think of anything I'd rather be piloting around town than a bike. This is coming from the owner of a litre-bike with the peakiest power delivery of all....peak power at 12500rpm with nothing much below 10000rpm. It's still a delight in town and my current avatar should justify this claim.
  2. I downloaded it myself last week - I have yet to actually play it though. After the p1ss-poor demo on the disc free with some magazine I'm prepared for the worst.
  3. Italovanti 'wheels will fit a Momo boss as well, just for reference.
  4. So do we call you jimsTDI from now on or what?
  5. To quote the movie Shallow Hal...."that's a huge bitch". 340bhp though....could do a lot worse. Shares in BP, Shell or Esso may be a wise investment. For the 340bhp S8 Parkers quote 0-60 in 6.6 and a limited top speed of 155mph.
  6. I can't believe what I've just read. Is it April 1st again already?
  7. If you plan on making a habit of racing Jags then yes.
  8. Yesterday - replaced the tired alternator with one from a scrappy. Today - looked at it out of the window and hoped it would start when required for a change.
  9. According to the description "anything over 6k wins the car at the end of auction"...but there's no reserve and your winning bid is slightly short of that. Have you spoken to the guy? It'd be funny if he tried to get another tenner out of you!
  10. I'm sure you know my thoughts about the Seat Leon by now....but for those who don't: sweet car, love 'em.

    New leak

There are a ton of threads about this - it seems to be one of those 'they all do that mate' problems. Remove the blower fan air intake leaf screen thing that's on the passenger side of the scuttle panel. Chisel off the old seal from the bottom and refit with a new seal. I made my own and added a bit of bathroom sealant for good measure. Sound as a pound now.
  12. The 'brake' part comes from the name of the machine, known as a friction brake, that was used to measure the power output of a motor. BHP now simply refers to power as measured on a dynomometer - the modern equvalent of a friction brake. Technically, the 'at the wheels' figure is the most meaningful - the 'at the crank' figure is only an estimation. However, any dyno peak figure has to be taken with a pinch of salt. The important part of a dyno plot is the shape of the curve.
  13. I find splicing into the heated rear window supply makes a convenient switched live.
  14. Nice pussy.... ....exhaust's ok too!
  15. Who da man? That would be me! It would seem to me that getting your car to a dyno would be the next logical step if you're in any doubt about performance. I hope you get it sorted to a level you're happy with dude.
  16. I assume he's talking about the Geo Metro. They're a small, economy car along the same lines as the Daihatsu Charade. There are a ton of them on the streets of Canada and, I assume, the US too. I'm not 100% sure but I believe the Geo Metro, Pontiac Firefly and Chevy Sprint are essentially the same car, a bit like the Peugeot 106 and Citroen Saxo are over here.
  17. The key for the bottom pulley has been known to sheer also. This happened to my mate's Golf GTi 16v so that every time he booted it the timing would slip slightly, eventually causing major power loss. If your timing marks are aligned, as is implied by the garage, this is unlikely to be your problem.
  18. Got a link to that? Google didn't find anything close.

    stealers man!!

Cable clutches....good ol' days....I remember when all this was fields....
  20. Seems like a bargain for £100,000 too.
  21. until you get to a corner . . . and the tatty old black corrado wooshes off into the sunset ;) Which is where a supermoto comes in.. humbles R1's and Corrados and S2000s in the corners (but sadly not on the straight bits..) Anyway - I've driven high reving engines and lazy V6's and I think on the whole I prefer the experience of having to be more involved. It's more rewarding. I've not driven an S2000 yet but hope its' all I've built it up to be. I've never had a RWD car before either so I can learn new skills. For me the corrado was a car that could be driven fast VERY easily though. Also it's milemunching abilty is better than almost any car I've driven before. I will defintely miss it :( There are few cars, or other types of bike, on the road that could touch a modern litre capacity sports-bike on the straights or the bendy bits - this includes supermoto. They are, simply, awesome. The supermoto might have the edge around the town, but the tatty black Corrado would get wasted everywhere! So...back to the S2000 discussion then...
  22. Me too! It's my weapon of choice for humbling just about any car on the road.

    HKS Camp

Never seen it before, but it looks mighty cool to me.
  24. Apparently it's still registered, with the last owner change on September 29th, 2002. Come on...any takers?
  25. That may well become an issue in the end. I have no experience of the interior....I've just admired them from a far.
