Yes my penis is actually a feeler gauge when manufacturing vices. Tough job but someone's got to do it.
-
Feck knows what that is. I used the biggest heaviest vice they make.

I haven't seen any of them either. I think the mainstream like to perpetuate the illusion that this franchise is more popular than it actually is to try and regain a diminishing popularity and gain maximum revenue. Milk it for all it's worth so to speak. Many people I know couldn't care less about and I personally have no interest in fantasy sci-fi, as it's only illogical. (Spock right?)
-
Almost, but the vice would'n't open wide enough. Damn girth.
-
What about the 2.3 V5 engine, sound just as good as a vr6 if not a little bit better in my opinion.
-
This debate would be nullified if people just used logic and common sense. It's neither comparable to not running a catalyst when your supposed too. That's not a safety issue. Tyres however most certainly are and pretty much the primary element of safety on any ones car. If your penis isn't long enough you could clamp it in a vice and stretch it out as much you can, but it certainly won't function correctly afterwards.

Excellent. Love a black G60. Hopefully get mine mot'd in the next week or so. Any plans for it?
-
You can save money by rebuilding the G-lader yourself as all the part are readily available now. A bit harder than doing chains on a VR6 but still worth a go if your confident. Also the G60 engine is pretty bullet proof and does not seem to suffer as badly as high mile VR6 bottom ends. Having had both a VR and G60, the VR wears thin after a year or so while I couldn't see me ever getting bored of the G60 and I've had it 2 years now.

You need a new job!!

The alternator is run of aux belt, along with the waterpump.
-
Water pump run off aux belt. Not too many hours labour in having it changed if it's knackered. I could do it myself in an hour on the ground.
-
Water pumps are relatively inexpensive. Just check it while the belts off along with the condition of the other pulleys and the alternator.

Valve stem seals on VR6 -cost to fix and damage?
Gti_Jamo replied to Reverend Frog's topic in Engine Bay
If it's only on 97k it would be unlikely to be a bore issue but yeah check the plugs, especially the two outer cylinders 1 and 6. But it is not a definative test. Plus cylinder wear is likely to smoke badly when up the top of the rev range. The classic 'smoking after engine breaking down hill' tells me that it is stem seal related, particularly worn valve guides causing the seals to fail. Overun / closed throttle creates a vacuum that sucks the oil down past the seals then spits it all out the back in one go in a lump of blue smoke. Of course bad rings and bore wear can do this but they'll usually be accomplished with other symptoms like burning under load and excessive crank case pressure. Compression and leak testing may be worthwhile if there is doubt before stripping. -
Depending on how there run makes a big difference to longevity. Constant ragging and aggresive down shifts will wear them out quick or ruin them completely. Smaller pulley will also reduce it's time between services. I've got a standard one that has done in excess of 60,000 miles and still works well albiet an outer oil seal has recently failed. Servicing is around £400- £600 and new your looking close to £2000.

The only way to get it off would be to disconnect it at the bonnet latches then pull the steel cable right through into the cabin. Fit new clip then feed it back through. But yeah no idea about getting the clip on its own, it would usually come as part of a new cable. Maybe try and find a second hand cable off a breaker.

Likely just been seeping from the pipe. The coolant crystallises and gives that pink stuff. Changing those metal clips for proper jubilee clips should do the job but check the pipes for cracks and splits.
-
It's hasn't lost its rubber 'O' ring from the inside the cap for the header tank by any chance? As that would give the illusion of overheating. Also different types of coolant if mixed, can turn into a sludge that can cause blockages.
-
I've got one that has just come off my corrado. It is due a rebuild and one of the outer oil seals are seaping but still worked fine. It's ported to a stage 2.
-
Also bear in mind the legality using certain suppliers. Especially those from ebay. If they don't ask for identification or the plate itself is missing BS markings then they are not legal.
-
I wouldn't bother with the euro flag, I find them quite dated now. Pressed metal plates are a a bit different from the norm and you can also gel resin 3D plates which I think look a bit cheap and tacky. But even just new standard plates make a car look fresh and ultimately the only type I would use on a Corrado in my opinion.
-
Hey none of that chatter lol.

I wish mine was blue. That number plate would be worth a few quid to a Rangers supporter lol.

Sinister twighlight zone music......

Seen morons sharing that profusely on facebook making it out to be some sort of epic stroke of genius. They'll be doing the same soon with that toxic, diabetes inducing, coca cola christmas advert.

Why, because I'm not excited about the desperate measures television advertisements take to ensure there sh*t products get spread about the web for everyone too see? Must just be me.
