Hi, I have been offered a straight swap for my G60 for a fairly tidy and well maintained, mapped Fiat Coupe 20 valve turbo so looking for some opinions on them. I have never really considered one before. I like how they are quite rare these days like the Corrado. The problem with my G60 is that it needs alot of work to get it where I want it to be. The biggest job being a full respray which I just do not have the time or the money to do just now. Also is uses oil, needs a new alarm fitting. Don't get me wrong I still love Corrados and will likely get another in the future but after 20,000 miles in the G60 I just fancy a change but wouldn't want to find myself in something boring. In both current conditions I would say the Coupe is worth more than my G60. Thoughts and opinions please.

Aslong as it has a valid MOT you pay £80 or so to get the plate put on retention and have the DVLA issue either the original or new reg number. RegTransfers sell your private numbers for a commission but bear in mind the industry is saturated with loads of numbers that are usually over priced so don't expect much of a return on a 7 digit, relatively new, number. I wouldn't put much value on that anyway.

I just join a few jubilee clips together and wrap it round the tensioner and tighten it up.

Yeah interested mate, does the block have pistons to go with it? The crank out my rallye engine will fit it but obviously the pistons are too small for a PG block.
-
Hi if it was a rallye bare block I'd definitely be interested as already have a spare PG block but it's no good to pair up with my rallye cylinder head.
-
Hi, As title suggests I'm looking for a G60 engine, just the head and block, nothing else. It's for rebuilding so no silly prices. Either the PG or rallye 1H engines. Don't mind something that has been sitting a while as long as it's not sat outside in the elements. Cheers, Jamie

I went into my local Maplins a couple of month ago, microswitch in hand, and they couldn't supply me with anything. And couldn't find anything else with the correct ratings. I'll order some off the Maplins website though.

1991 Corrado G60 Tornado Red MOT Feb 2017

No not for sale anymore. Decided to keep it for now. -
Exactly the same. Only difference would be spring rates.

My G60 has been on the market for 2.5k for a while now and only had the one viewing. The paintwork lets it down but it's original and on the road but just not getting the interest I expected sadly. There are a lot of dreamers out there with their estimated values though. Even if I was to put new paint on it I couldn't envision getting more than 3.5k just now so not really worth it.

BE VERY AWARE!!! posting parts via parcelforce
Gti_Jamo replied to lilfuzzer's topic in Off-topic Chat
I always use Parcel2go and have never had issues. I plaster my stuff in 'fragile' tape. Recently sent a striped down G-Lader and it arrived in perfect condition from UPS. -
I'd say get rid of it, but remove the pump. I'm not really trustworthy of ABS on old cars and would rather do without. I know early corrados have a load valve on the rear axle so it's not as if you have to fit one. I'd actually feel more confident without it if I had to take evasive action suddenly. And as already mentioned, snow and ice, your safer walking than trying to deal with these old systems.

Any pics of condition?

I didn't vote because I literally don't care as politics is corrupted and manipulative from top to bottom. I certainly don't want to become one of those condescending halfwits who harp on about it all day on facebook or whatever.

Once you get in about them they are not too bad to work on. As mentioned the bearing at the exhaust end needs heat to get it out and the new one back in as you can't get at it with a press. You also re-use the metal springs underneath the apex strips so be careful not to damage them. You may need to retention them if they have gone flat. Don't skimp on cheap ebay parts either, especially the oil seals as if there is a weak link in the chain it's the oil seals. Also replace the wood-ruff keys in both shafts.

I have a dead microswitch which stops my spoiler from retracting. Can't find anything informative regarding them. Both my local electrical shops don't have anything similar. They are 25a 250vac.

2.5 years and 15,000 miles.
-
I'm not usre if it's the same with the valvers but the G60's also have a sensor on the fuel rail which maintains fuel pressure if evaporation takes place inside fuel rail, this also makes the fan run on.

Some lambdas can strip threads when coming out if they have been in a while and are usually super tight so yeah some heat will always help. Just cut the wires and get the ring end of a spanner on it.
-
I love me an old Vauxhall, they are still pretty affordable to. Compared to the old fords which are sky rocketing beyond ridiculous now. Don't really care much for the programme, not my sort of thing.
-
I would in no way, be accepting 50/50 liability for that. They drove into you.

Still for sale. -

It is advised to change it by manufacturer but if it looks and feels ok then why bother. I've done a few and not felt the need to change some of them without any problems. The more important issue many overlook when doing timing belts on 1.8t engines in not replacing the 3 engine mount bolts.

That is beautiful. Some staggered rears would make it though.
