I got 4 toyo tr1's from demon tweeks not so long ago for £90. Buy 3 get the 4th free.
-
As said use the 16v and supercharge that. 1.8t have been done to death and are old engines themselves.
-
Think it was £40-50 brand new. You'll still pay £30 for an old second hand one for a G60.
-
A long shot but have you tried the main dealers. I have a G60 one in my stash of parts for mine which is brand new from the dealers from around 2014. Might still be worth a try.

Which type are you needing as they are all different between models.

No worries mate. Let me know if you change your mind. Can easily stick in an envelope and send it down free of charge to help the cause. -

I'll have a used small wiper arm linkage you could use. I think I got the last of the new arms that where made available through the forum. I've not fitted it yet but the wiper motor is off the car so take me two minutes to get it off. Jamie -
I'm using an small household electrical junction box for my relays and fuses. Mounted on the inner wing next to the battery.

Don't worry, give it a year or so and you'll be a G60 expert.

1991 Tornado Red Corrado G60 Daily / Project

Forgot too add that I picked these alloys up earlier in they year. I had been looking for a set of these for a while and managed to get them sent over from Bulgaria. MIM 1900 in 15 x 7 with an offset of 13 so will sit pretty nice. Just going to be running 195/50's on them. They need a couple of cosmetic repairs and painted but overall in really good condition and all straight. The BMW centre caps are just stickers, the proper centre cap is still underneath. -
You'd be nuts selling your Corrado through them.

Hi guys, time for an 'annual' update on the G60. I've not got too much done to be honest. Have stripped down the underside and there is quite a few bits of rust needing sorted. Not really what I had planned but what can you do. First of the entire underneath was cleaned. Both floor pans had underseal on them and was a nasty job removing it all but got there in the end. I knew the backs of the sills needing doing but one side turned out to be worse than I though. The sealer hides a lot. Then onto the boot floor where the petrol tank mount is. The drivers rear strut top area. Not too bad but needing repaired before it gets worse. And finally continuing on in drivers real wheel arch where many problems appeared after removing the petrol tank. The top piece where the neck mounts to is in a bad way and needs replaced or repaired. Then I have this problem way up at the top where the rod for the petrol lock actuator goes through, along with rot around the inside of the patrol cap area. Not easy to get access to with cutting discs and a welder. I may have to cut into the inner wheel arch from the inside to do it properly. So still lots to do before I even get started on the bodywork. A few small minor repairs but this is the worst of it. I've already started on the boot floor. Hopefully more updates soon. I really good do with this being on the road come the summer so need to get on with it. Cheers. -
Cheers for that. I may have found one locally to me from a guy off Facebook so just waiting for them sending me some pics of it. Apparently has new calipers on it so that would be handy as i'm needing them too.
-
My main issue is that it's rusted badly on the inserts the bushes press into. Tried to see if they can just be replaced but can't find anything for them. Basically mine is so bad I had to take a hammer and chisel to the entire thing. Nightmare!
-
Yes I think that is the case. Mk2 Golf also? Ideally I would want a brand new one but not much chance of that happening. Mine looked liked it had been dredged up from the bottom of a canal. I've cleaned it up but I'm not too impressed with it, especially the ends where the bushes press into. I fear if I send it off to be acid dipped then nothing will come back lol.

Looking for a rear axle for my 92 G60. Must be in good condition! Cheers.
-
When I was 17 or 18 I used to dream about having a Corrado but the best I could afford was a mk1 golf. Now I have one I'm building it with the same vision I had 20 years ago, so it'll look like how I imagined it would have been had I had one back then. I get no joy whatsoever seeing it in my garage up on axle stands all stripped. The money and time required to finish it is tough going to say the least and trying to find the parts I need is extremely difficult.
-
I've just crossed, 'Buy centre console gauges' off my list lol.
-
I wish I did it two summers ago and I might have some money left, and a life lol. I keep telling myself it'll be worth it in the end but jesus they don't half test your patients.
-
Corrados can rust almost anywhere, in the stupidest of places sadly. The only proper way to fix it is to cut it out and weld in new metal.
-
Did you set the ignition timing using the correct procedure?
-
I got towed in the rain once for 25 miles in a car with a flat battery, no wipers, lights or horn and no way of communicating my predicament to the the tow vehicle. It was a stressful 30 minutes I tell thee as it was on a rope.
-
Main bearing bolts can be reused. Big end bolts need to be replaced if still using standard rods.
-
The chargers are mostly ported out to increase flow. You'll struggle to find one that isn't these days. If that the case then it'll likely have a chipped ecu too which may be the problem. Also check the fuel injector wiring loom as it's get hot back there and if wires are brittle then they can stop injecting under engine load.
