  1. Usually, the only way to transfer a NCB would be to cancel your existing policy and creating a new one. I'm not sure if they can be transferred or swapped mid policy. Your best phoning up your insurance company and finding out though.
  2. You can use Tinypic or Postimage as an free alternative to photocucket. It's a shame they done this as it's literally the final nail in the coffin for some forums. G60 looks great by the way. Doing the same sort of stuff myself just now.
  3. Spotted a green Storm in Crieff, Perthshire today.
  4. Drove the G60 out the garage yesterday for the first time since January. Also a short video of it running. Still needs set up and some wiring tidied up but runs very nice. [video=youtube_share;5IuiDc7wtk8]
  5. Struggle to even call that a Corrado.
  6. Mmm, sounds ominous. When I first enquired to him about my woodruff keys he told me he was having problems with postage, however it was Royal Mail who was to blame this time and parts hadn't left the sorting office. He then said he would send me another set out first class recorded but no tracking details where supplied and nothing arrived in the days after. Bear in mind this was a tiny set of woodruff keys, and not a large parcel or heavy item. I never heard anything else from him after that, no reply to my messages etc. Very poor service.
  7. This is also Dubforce on ebay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/just-james?_trksid=p2047675.l2559
  8. Just a little update of what's been happening recently. Got round to rebuilding my charger. Took a lot of pics of the strip down but not so much during reassembly. All looked in very good shape in there. Was running fine prior but the oil seal at the exhaust side bearing had failed. These are a few random pics. Back fitted now with a 68mm pulley along with an ecu chip. So with that done I was able to get it fitted and fire this beast up and check it out. I had done a cold compression test before initial start up just out of curiosity, and it also gives it a bit of time to build some oil pressure to the charger before firing. 150 - 155 psi across all 4 so I am very happy there. After that I had it running for a good 45 minutes and right up to temperature, set the ignition timing and it runs spot on. Sounds good with the full stainless on it. Need to get proper G40 plugs for it as just running regulars just now. I've since drained the coolant (water on this occasion) and removed the radiator as wanted to check for leaks before I committed to putting G12 in. Also have a new expansion tank coming. Typically the bottom thermostat housing was warped and seeping so have replaced that but other than that no water or oil leaks. Clutch hose was perished and leaking so have replaced that with a full braided version from HEL which appears to very good quality and was very fast to arrive. In the photo I have a blanking plate on the charger but will be replacing the boost return as I'm not keen on the chirpiness at low revs. Also refurbished my front brake calipers and fitted them along with the Kw's.
  9. I'm not sure what the deal is with DubForce but I too was getting fobbed off with dodgy excuses. I'm not sure if they are closing down or changing locations but something is certainly not right with them so I would make sure you get your money back. I just paid MaxRPM in Germany 15 euros to post 4 tiny keyways but it was all tracked and very fast.
  10. Yeah I'm sorted and my chargers rebuilt and fitted. Cheers anyway mate!
  11. I didn't get any messages from you mate unfortunately. Not even in the spam.
  12. I never got my stuff from Dubforce and was eventually refunded after I opened a dispute. Ended up purchasing woodruff keys from Germany.
  13. Me too. 36 yesterday. Still feel 35 though which is strange.
  14. I'd be all over it if I was local, but I'm up in Scotland in the sticks unfortunately lol. As long as the crank isn't damaged it's not too bad a job for whoever is tackling it. Would be a matter of new rod bearings and rod bolts which can all be done from underneath with the sump off. However if the crank is damaged it's an engine out job. Crank would either need to be replaced or machined and oversize bearings fitted. Just sold a good crank for one of these last week too but hopefully you'll not need one.
  15. Sounds like a rod bearing to me. Hydraulic tappets, if failing, usually make a more constant timed rattle as it's obviously timed to the engine. Your rattle sounds a bit random which reminds me of early rod bearing failure. It's the number 4 conrod that is usually the most likely to go on these engines which would also make sense why it appears to be coming from the bottom right corner. Could be potentially being starved of oil as number 4 is the last of the rods to be fed off the crank. VW actually put double grooved main bearings in crank bearing 4 to help improve oil flow to conrod 4 and sometimes, if engine work has been carried out, these grooved main bearing are sometimes mixed up and some assume the double grooved main bearing are fitted to crank bearing 3 instead of 4, thus restricting oil flow and causing premature wear. I would pull the sump off and see if you can feel any play in conrod 4.
  16. Cheers guys. I'll give Jabba a shout Geeba but already messaged JMR so hopefully they get back to me. Veedubbed that would be good. It's more specifically the shorter one on the main shaft, the one that holds the counter balance weight as have a slight bit of play in it.
  17. I'm needing a full set of woodruff keys for my G-Lader does anyone know where to get them in the UK? I did buy them from Dubforce over 2 weeks ago and still waiting so not sure what is going on there. They said they have sent it twice but yet neither have arrived. My only other option seems to be MaxRPM in Germany but they charge quite a hefty shipping fee so I would rather not use them.
  18. Just noticed your reply Alex, I might take you up on that so will give you a shout sometime. I've changed the brushes for ones I had spare and hooked up another earth but no difference with it. Will post up a video of mine running hopefully next week. Had her running briefly for 20 seconds or so but not got my G-Lader fitted yet, so the belts off and obviously the water pumps not being powered so couldn't run it long. Currently rebuilding my charger, just waiting on some new woodruff keys coming. I stripped down your old charger and it had spat out one of the apex seals out the magnesium displacer. Not by much, just an inch or so. Luckily it mostly stayed in its groove but has put a slight wear groove on the edge of the displacer. Nothing too serious and will likely repair it with a smidge of JB weld.

    PayPal issues

If a fraudster can gain access to your Paypal account, it generally means they are looking to gain access and remove cash from your actual bank account. Given the amount of fraud going on the internet these days it's of no surprise paypal are constantly asking for extra security measures to ensure your account is secure. After all if money goes missing it's on them and they are duty bound to replace it.

    PayPal issues

I had to do this years ago after some suspicious activity surrounding my account. However I actually had over 800 quid stole out my bank via paypal at the time. Once I gave them proof of my identity they replaced all the money. Given how much fraud that goes on through paypal these days it's not surprising they are asking for identification.
  21. They're worth it all day long. But it ultimately depends on what you are looking for. Either something cheap than needs work that you can do up, or one that is strong money with loads of maintenance history and good paint. However if you want a corrado just for the sake of having a corrado and go down the cheap road, then you'll probably regret it fairly quickly and find yourself skint all the time. For example my G60 cost little over £1000 back in 2014 and it was quite a dog to be honest (My thread down below). But that is what I wanted and have the tools and facilities to make it better. I've probably spent a good few thousand on it since and it's still far from being finished but I live and breath to have a project at all times so it keeps me more than happy.
