  3. I saw that on Sunday it's totally mad. I suppose it's like jumping out of a plane and hoping that your power shoot will open, in their case it's their hand / finger grip on the edge of a building. A few years ago there was a lot of talk about some young people, on a cliff top with a very strong head wind blowing in land off the sea, well these young people were jumping off the edge of the cliff, and the wind was that strong that it was blowing them back onto the cliff top, I mean if the wind direction had changed or dropped off in it strength, well you'd be gone big time. I thick there was a 200 or 300 drop off the cliff as well. Not for me no way. I can understand that they're looking for the best adrenalin rush, but one slip and it's curtains. I know we're all going to be going one day, but not when your just a young pup starting out in your early twenties like they were. I've done some stupid things like we all have when your young. Like when I was 11 years old I used to play on building sites, and climb on the scaffolding to the roof tops and jump off in to the piles of sand, or jump over the small bomb fires that were just still a light, yeah once I tripped and fell into the hot ashes it was so painful, but luckily for me it's left no lasting marks, STUPID really looking back the things we do as kids. I suppose we try to push the boundary out, and see how far we get and try to beat it each time. No way never again. I'm up for driving a car fast on a race track but none of the above, no way. Si
  4. Right just a quick update, I've had an email from the USA company called Redlinemotive.com, only just noticed it as it was in my junk mail. They are looking into my enquiry for the plastic fuel surge tank, for the 4 cyl Corrado's so hopefully they'll come back with good news. If not then I think I'll be fabricating my own out of alloy, or might have to purchase that alloy one from that other company in the USA, that's going for around £286.51 complete with new fuel pump. Will just have to see which way is the most cost effective and most practical. Si
  5. No worries DRAGON GREEN your welcome. Many thanks. Si
  6. Hello MICKY FLETCH, sorry mate all of the first batch is sold out. Yes I'll put you down on the second batch, but first I need to confirm from VW Heritage / VW Classic Parts, that they do have enough stock. I'll post up here how many I'll be able to get hold of, the price should be the same as bfore. Many thanks. Si
  7. UPDATE - Second Batch: 1) STUARTTAYLOR37 (1) 2) EJ TAYLOR (1) ??? I'll post up here when I have ordered the second batch, it should be another 10 of in total. I'll let you know and confirm how many I will have to sell. Many thanks. Si
  8. The guy on the phone at VW Heritage told me it looks like they could already be in the UK, and that they are just waiting for them to be collected, so I might have these in my hand by next week possibly. Looks like as well I should be able to order another batch from them, but this won't be until two weeks from now. I believe STUARTTAYLOR37 wants another wiper linkage, so if and when I do order another batch his name is already down for one. Also I've just sent a PM to EJ TAYLOR as I think he was after one of these wiper linkages back in October of 2013 so there could be 2 already taken from the new second batch. Many thanks. Si
  9. Update: 1) CLUMPY1 (1) 2) DIARMAID16 (1) 3) STUARTTAYLOR37 (2) 4) PADDY26 (1) 5) DRAGON (1) 6) VOLKSWORLD13 (1) 7) DRAGONGREEN (1) 8 of in total. Many thanks. Si
  10. Right just a quick update, I've been on the phone to VW Heritage chasing the above wiper linkages, and had confirmation that there will be 10 in total, 2 of which are already spoken for and so it's 8 in total that I'm selling, from this first batch. VOLKSWORLD13 and DRAGONGREEN you should be ok if you still want one, from this first batch. Many thanks. Si
  11. Yeah Tempest that's what I had the EX engine with carb, I had to replace the wax stat on mine as the auto choke packed up, then about 18 months after that the old original Pierburg carb, packed up for good so phoned VW dealer and they wanted around £650.00 to £800.00 for a new carb which is mad, it's just stupid that VW were charging that much for a new carb, so I went for a twin choke webber carb replacement, cost me around £250.00 to £300.00 back in the year 2000 I found the original pierburg carbs were ok when new, but after 50,000 miles or more they did tend to play up, as they had extra bits on them that you didn't really need. But with the new webber carb fitted it felt a lot more responsive, the only snag with the webber was you had a manual choke, instead of the wax stat auto set up of the pierburg. Yeah my old Scirocco was quicker off the mark then my current Corrado, but after about 45 to 50 MPH the Corrado would kick it's butt. The Scirocco had the MK2 Golf gearbox with cable clutch operation, it had quite a close gear ratio where as on the Corrado it's got a much longer ratio, so it's much better at high cruising speeds, where as the Scirocco was faster off the mark. But I still miss my old MK2 Scirocco it was a nice car, and still looks good today although the flat front end is a bit dated, but the back end with the dark tinted lights and the big black tailgate spoiler, that for me looked lush and the colour coded body kit. You want a sports coupe to be unique and be as far away as possible from a hatch back and saloon, shame really the mk3 Scirocco doesn't have the same kind of feeling to it, it just seems like a Golf that's been stretched slightly to be honest. The front of it looks ok ish but the back to me looks totally wrong. I have sat in the R-line diesel haven't driven one though, but it does seem alright inside it's just the exterior. The old MK1 & MK2 Scirocco's are a classic style sports coupe especially the MK1, which the Corrado well and truly lived up to. For me the Corrado has elegant lines and looks good from every angle, VW put so much passion into it when producing the Corrado, something that the MK3 Scirocco is lacking big time. It looks too much like a hatch back. Si
  12. The MK1 is nice infact has similar lines to that of the Corrado, mainly the way the rear windows kick up slightly and the back end. You really can see just how close they look the MK1 Sciorroc and the Corrado, would you have still bought the Corrado if it had been called the MK3 Scirocco ?? But for me it was the MK2 Scirocco that I went for, bought my first VW back in 1998 for around £2000.00 that Scirocco had done 54,000 miles on a F plate when I bought it, it was the 1.8 Scarla in metalic silver complete with colour coded body kit & door mirrors, and it had the chrome effect scarla wheels. All I did to it was lowered it a bit still on the scarla wheels, and fitted a full Janspeed exhaust with the twin chrome tail pipes, and a K&N air filter, it sounded amazing. I really shouldn't have sold it but I needed some cash to purchase the Corrado at the time. Sold the Scirocco in 2002 to a guy in his 60's said he used to have one from new, back in the early 1980's and told me he had always wanted one of the later MK2 scarla's. I really wish I'd kept it, but at least it went to a good home, plus I had already fallen for the Corrado so had to purchase one. The MK2 Scirocco's to go for were the GT2, GTS or GTX was it, and the Scarla. I've seen on (Car and Classic.co.uk) a MK2 Golf G60 going for £10,000.00 and a MK2 Golf 16v going for £7000.00. There's a MK1 Scirocco going for £17,995.00 and I've seen a MK2 Scirocco going for just under £4000.00 They sell Corrado's on there as well, last year I saw on there a VR6 going for around £5000.00 but it was a low milage. http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/list/43/scirocco/ Si
  13. I'm possibly looking into purchasing some new items, in this new year 2014. But just depends on price and whether I can buy a few in a batch to bring the cost down, like I've already done with the small wiper linkage arm, and of course availability of these items below. This will be the complete front windscreen seal kit. It's around £51.00 + shipping from one supplier. £55.00 from another + shipping. Front fog lights, the later ones. These are around £165.00 per each side from one supplier, but I'm just seeing what they can do with that price, plus am looking at other companies. The front later indicators, I've found a few companies that do them, just seeing what they can do on price. And the fuel surge plastic tank. I'm already looking into this item on a different thread. This is not 100% yet I've just got to do my research, and will report back in the near future with all info. So far I've got a large list of other items for the Corrado, these include NEW and SECONDHAND. NEW items off VW Heritage / VW Classic Parts, and a large list from ARZ Tuning. And loads of rare NEW and SECONDHAND parts off Ebay, all listed on a parts spreadsheet. At some point as well I will put up here a large list of the Ebay item numbers, so you can find them very quickly. The amount of times I've tried to find a part and just can't find it anywhere, and then out of the blue with out even trying I find it on Ebay. I just got so sick of it so in the end, I started to log every Corrado item I found or came across on Ebay, even at work when I'm at lunch if only for ten mins or so, even if I don't need the item it's logged ready just incase. Believe me it saves so much time, you find the part you want straight away with out having to waste time searching for it when you need it most. Many thanks. Si
  14. This is the company that I was looking at originally, but they don't ship goods out side of the USA, and aren't really looking at restocking this item. http://www.partsplaceinc.com/products/product-detail.aspx?sku=9579 So like I say I'll do some digging around and see what I can find out, about this other company above i.e Redline Motive.com Cheers. Si
  15. Right this is another USA company that I've just found, they are called Redline Motive.com, and they do ship goods world wide. I'll see what I can find out. Looks like they do the full rage for the MK2 Golf / Jetta / Passat and Corrado, for the OEM black plastic fuel surge tanks. http://www.redlinemotive.com/replacement/volkswagen/fuelpumphousing.asp This is the link that shows they don't stock it at the moment. http://www.redlinemotive.com/store/replacement/wizard.asp?year=1993&make=VW&model=PAS--001&category=E&part=Fuel+Pump+Housing Si
  16. For me it would have to be, 1) the front later VR6 wings (The wider ones) ( O/S/F = 535821022D ) Please bring these back. ( N/S/F = 535821021D ) Please bring these back. You can still purchase the early wings from VW Heritage, they are about £340.83 per each. 2) The dash cluster screw cover caps. ( O/S = 535 858 507 ) Please bring these back. ( N/S = 535 858 508 ) Please bring these back. 3) Sunroof rail carriage unit. Not sure what the part number is for this though. 4) O/S/F inner door card top black plastic trim. ( O/S/F = 535837476 01C ) Please bring this back. ( N/S/F = 535837476 01C ) N/S is £26.67 through VW Heritage. 5) The fuel surge tank unit on the 4 cyl engines. ( 535 201 043 ) for Corrado 1.8 16v eng code(KR) and 2.0 16v eng code(9A) Please bring these back. I might fabricate my own up out of alloy ?? Cheers. Si

    Wiper Linkage

Hello Mr DRAGON, don't worry I've added you to the list on the group buy thread same as CLUMPY1 http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=84887 Once again many thanks. Si
  19. Update: Right for now all 6 wiper linkage vacancies have been taken, there might be another 2, just waiting for confirmation from supplier to confirm this, should know by tomorrow hopefully. I'm hoping to purchase another batch in the near future. The guys that have confirmed they want one on the list above, I'll PM you as soon as they are delivered to my door, which will be in about 3 to 4 weeks time. I'll send you payment details and full cost. Linkage arms are £15.52 each. I'm hoping to post out to you FOC, or worst case might be £2.50 for postage / carriage. But like I say I will let you know on all details above. Many thanks. Si
  20. Update: 1) CLUMPY1 (1) 2) DIARMAID16 (1) 3) STUARTTAYLOR37 (2) 4) PADDY26 (1) 5) DRAGON (1) Many thanks. Si
  21. Just looking in to the fabrication of or purchasing a alloy fuel surge tank, one to replace on the 2.0 16v Corrado. The original surge tank is made of plastic which over time leaks, and of course you can no longer purchase the original one anymore. I've been in contact with VW Classic Parts in Germany, who have said they no longer make / supply this part. So for this reason as mentioned above I've been looking in to a close OEM look if poss. What I've found is a alloy fuel surge tank and 040 or 044 fuel pump. Pump pressure is around 5 Bar (72.5 PSI) Hose connection 12mm Fuel Capacity BIS 228 I/h Original fuel pump is 60mm for 2.0 16v Corrado and the pressure is around 5 to 6 Bar, I think ?? So isn't that far off from the 044 pump Also found a alloy fuel surge tank sold by a company called (Etech tuning .com) Cost is £146.30 with out the pump. But complete with the 044 fuel pump cost is £286.51 It's fuel holding capacity is 2.3 ltrs It's 7.25" long It's 6" wide and then 8.9" wide from the mounting tap arms. And 4" deep. Weight is 5 lbs or (2.26 KG) This would be an ideal replacement to the original old plastic one that we all have fitted , partly because I've seen a few photo's of one fitted to a Corrado VR6 or G60, I think it was KEV that sold one on here he had some time ago and attached some photo's. Here's the link of the alloy fuel surge tank. http://www.etektuning.com/integrated-engineering-billet-surge-tank-submerged-044-pump/ This new fuel surge tank it states it has a treated interior, a special anodizing lining process that protects the inner alloy from strong fuels, which of course over time can eat through plastic or weaken alloy, so the treated inner lining should last a fair few years hopefully. Might even be able to fit the VW original type fuel pump into this alloy surge tank, once the black plastic triangle retaining adaptor has been removed off the pump. I've still got my original plastic fuel surge tank fitted to my Corrado, which is going to be 20 years old later on this year, so it's really only a matter of time until mine will start leaking, plus it's still got both original fuel pumps fitted. So I'd rather try and source a good replacement now. The only other thing I've thought about is to have a fuel surge tank fabricated up, same spec as the OEM plastic ones but made out of alloy, this way should be able to still use the original fuel pump. I did find a company in the USA that were selling the OEM plastic fuel surge tanks, for the MK2 Golfs / Jetta's and the Corrado 1.8 16v / 2.0 16v / G60 But they've sold out of all sizes 46.5mm / 52mm / 60mm and are not restocking the part so looks like a lot of people are going to be having the same issue. I did mention to VW Classic Parts that people are screaming out for these fuel surge tanks, but like I say they're not going to remake / re-supply them. I can't find anyone in the UK who will supply the OEM plastic surge tank. Si
